Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, LHA501(c)(3), and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was User:LHA501(c)(3)/sandbox, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 19:52, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "LHA501(c)(3)", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it implies shared use and it implies it represents an organization. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 19:54, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

AfC notification: Draft:Lifting Hearts with the Arts has a new comment

[edit]
I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:Lifting Hearts with the Arts. Thanks! davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 20:00, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The backlog for reviews is 3 months. If your submission is clearly unacceptable or clearly acceptable you might get a response sooner. Since most organizations fail WP:Notability, and since it's not immediately obvious that the non-profit you are writing about does, I would not expect a fast acceptance.
Also, please leave a note on the talk page saying what, if any, connection you have to this organization. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 20:04, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

hi there! thank you for your help. i am the founder of the nonprofit and i would like to create this page so more people can learn about our nonprofit. there is no conflict of interest and if i need to change anything, i would be happy to do so! LHA501(c)(3) (talk) 20:12, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your involvement with that organization is the very definition of a conflict of interest. Wikipedia is not for advertising. Until that organization is well-known and it receives significant coverage from reliable, independent sources, there will not be a page about it in Wikipedia. Please read WP:What Wikipedia is not for information. Also read WP:HERE and WP:NOTHERE. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 20:15, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

i completely understand, and thank you for your help.LHA501(c)(3) (talk) 20:18, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, LHA501(c)(3). We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Your edits seem like you may not be 100% neutral. If you have a COI, please disclose. HurricaneTracker495 (talk) 20:08, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

hi! thank you for your help. i am the president and founder of this nonprofit and i just want to create this page so people have access to information regarding the organization. i in no way wish to use this page as a way to publicize the organization. being the president of this organization, i know the most information about the organization, which is why i chose to make this page. what edits would i need to make?LHA501(c)(3) (talk) 20:11, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That is publicity of your organization. You have a strong WP: COI. Good job making the draft! If accepted, you must never edit it again(WP: ABAN), and you will instead use {{requested edit}} to gain attention on the talk page. --HurricaneTracker495 (talk) 20:26, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
