Edit to Demagogue[edit]

Hi! I noticed your edit to Demagogue because I have that Wikipedia article on my watchlist. You also may create a watchlist for yourself. It is useful to keep track of edits to articles on the list. In this case, I reverted your edit because it lacked two important aspects:

a citation to a published source with adequate editorial supervision ([[WP:RS|reliable sources as required by Wikipedia policy
integration into the text of the article (encyclopedia style for articles requires avoiding isolated list fragments

As you might imagine, listing Donald Trump as a demagogue is controversial, requiring more than usual reliable sources—otherwise it is subject to removal. Since it seems to me that you are just beginning to edit Wikipedia, I suggest editing articles that have no strong connections to American politics since about 1930—special restrictions apply to this category (restrictions on how many reversions to content per article per day) and you are more likely to run into editors who may have difficulty with neutrality and balance. You are certainly welcome to edit such articles but your learning curve will be much steeper. If you want help, reply directly to this message and sign your user name followed by four tildes (~~~~). Or you may place {{Help me}} on this talk page. Placing this template on your talk page will notify the group of editors who help and will display the following text

I am looking for help! Ask your question below. You can also check Help:Contents and the FAQ, or ask at the Help deskor the Teahouse. Users who monitor the category Wikipedians looking for help and those in Wikipedia's Live Helphave been alerted and will assist you shortly. You can also join the chat room to receive live Wikipedia-related help there. You'll be receiving help soon, so don't worry.

I hope you will enjoy editing wikipedia. — Neonorange (Phil) 04:58, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
