A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Legal Innovation Zone/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. –Ammarpad (talk) 22:34, 26 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Bishonen | talk 22:42, 26 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I understand what I was blocked for, and I will change my username and make edits to the article to be written from a neutral point of view and not for the purpose of Promotion. The intention was never to promote the organization, but to publish an informational article for educational purposes. A similar page "The DMZ at Ryerson University" has been created and published, and I have compared our article to theres and it is quite similar in the content of what we discuss. What areas of the article specifically were considered "promotional"? I can remove majority of the application process and just leave a simple line, however I am unclear as to why it is promotional otherwise. Thank you.

Decline reason:

I'm sorry, but I cannot unblock you at this time. Please read Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations.

The proposed new username is acceptable. However, the other elements of the block still need to be addressed. To be unblocked:

If you have no interest in editing Wikipedia beyond writing about your organisation, then you will not be unblocked. If this is the case, I recommend you consider alternative outlets.

So we know understanding is mutual, please state your understanding/response to each item in your own words.

I'm sorry that this message could not be more favourable.

  • I think that you have a common misunderstanding as to what Wikipedia is. It is not a forum to merely tell about an organization or facility; Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. In fact, Wikipedia has no interest in what an organization wants to say about itself; we are only interested in what independent reliable sources with in depth coverage state about an article subject, indicating how it meets the relevant notability guidelines. In your case, your draft only cites this facility's website and no independent sources. If no independent sources have written about this facility, it would not merit an article here at this time. It doesn't matter that another similar organization or facility might have an article, as other things exist. Each article is judged on its own merits.
You have what Wikipedia calls a conflict of interest in this situation. If you are a paid representative, you would also be a paid editor that must comply with the paid editing policy per Wikipedia's Terms of Use. To be unblocked, you will need to review those policies and tell us what you would like to edit about other than your organization/facility, as you won't be unblocked if your facility is the only thing you want to edit about. You may wish to use social media or some other alternative outlet to merely tell the world about this subject. If you have any questions, please ask. 331dot (talk) 20:28, 28 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
