Your edits

[edit]

At Pickering, you wrote "Cherrywood, another hamlet in Pickering, is one of the few towns that are protected within the Greenbelt." First, is it a town or a hamlet? There's a difference. Also, what "greenbelt" are you speaking about? Also, what is this hamlet/town protected from? Finally, why did you add this as a source? It doesn't even mention Cherrywood. Please respond before adding more edits. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 03:21, 6 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It's ok. I fixed it. Dr. K.

A tag has been placed on Durham Live requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Edit war

[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block.

Rather than edit war at Pickering, Ontario, please explain your position on the article's talk page. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 17:31, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi it's LeonV, Contemporary history of Pickering should be discussed, and the relevance of this development to the Pickering community is significant given the employment and general economic implications of the development ($1.3 billion dollars worth of investment). This is the largest ever private investment in Pickering and the Durham region's history. This entry is very relevant for those reasons, and as well, the installation of the huge pedestrian bridge and the lake shore area with condos is another noteworthy development in Pickering's development history much like the energy plant in Pickering was a noteworthy development in Pickering's history even though it is a provincial crown corporation.

Canadian hedge funds

[edit]

Hi LeonV, Thanks for your new article about Canadian hedge funds. This appears to be a fork from List of hedge funds, however the new article does not indicate why the list is notable or what purpose it serves. It also does not have any sources. Given it does not lead the reader to e.g. articles of notable Canadian hedge funds, it remains unclear what is to be gained. As per WP:ELLIST I removed the external links to company websites. It may also be that the list is not retained as per WP:LISTCRUFT and WP:NOTDIR. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 07:24, 4 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
