Editing about yourself
[edit]I noticed that you edited the article about Lisa Lambe. If you are, in fact, Ms Lambe, you should not be editing this article. Instead, if you find that there are factual errors, you should address them on the talk page. You should not, under any circumstances, use the article to promote yourself. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:15, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
- I will reiterate: you have a very obvious conflict of interest regarding Lisa Lambe. Your username implies that you are she, and your editing on the page indicates a desire to self-aggrandize. Wikipedia maintains a strict neutrality policy: edits that do not adhere to that policy will be reverted. Since it is so difficult to maintain that neutrality when writing about oneself, you should not edit this article. Instead, you should request changes on the talk page where independent editors will evaluate your requests. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 11:41, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
Hi Wiki Dan, I am keen to update this page. It is focused too heavily on the Celtic Woman chapter of Lisa's career related events and does not show the current happenings of lisa lambe; the actress, musician, new website, new album, solo career, returning to the stage etc, so I'm seeking to make this firstly relevant and most importantly ;up to date!. Lisa was not involved in musical theatre, but was involved in theatre that had music and singing in it. There is a difference!
Also can you please help with regards to updating the photo that is the main image affiliated with this page. I would like to request a current shot of lisa taken a few months ago for her album campaign. In it she is not in costume as she is in this current image, but is rather just herself — Preceding unsigned comment added by LisaLambe01 (talk • contribs)
- Due to your obvious conflict of interest with the Lisa Lambe article (already explained above), you should not edit the page. Rather, you should make requests at Talk:Lisa Lambe. Clearly, it is useful to have information regarding Lambe's (your?) post-Celtic Woman career, so long as such information is well cited. As for the picture, if you have a more recent picture to update, please do so (but be careful of copyright issues -- pictures that have been used for album art or publicity are probably not in the public domain and are not appropriate for Wikipedia). Hi Wiki Dan, thanks for the update. Can you talk me through how to upload new images etc.....thank you. Also my age is incorrect so can it please read my birthday -day and month only.
- Ms Lambe, I have once again reverted your edits to Lisa Lambe. I have instructed you that you should not edit this article but should instead make change requests at Talk:Lisa Lambe. The problems I see with your edits specifically:
- You continue to remove the image from the page. If you don't care for the present image, upload a new one. See Help:Uploading images. But until a better image is available, Wikipedia wants images in biographies, and the one that is there now is the best public domain image Wikipedia has available.
- You continue to remove the birth year from your article. Either correct it or leave it alone. But Wikipedia is not a social website: no one cares about your birthday. Your actual date of birth is encyclopedic; but without the year, the information has no value and should be removed completely.
- You continue to add promotional material: describing yourself as renowned and having graduated "with distinction" with no sources to back up such peacock terms.
- You continue to remove the genre Celtic music from your infobox. Whether you like it or not, you are known more for your contributions in the Celtic music genre than for your more recent solo work. That may change over time, but Celtic music will always be part of your background and it will always be a genre for which you are known.
- All of these edits are problematic, and all of the require at least discussion on the article's talk page before reintroducing. Please adhere to Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy or you may find your editing privileges blocked altogether. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 23:59, 2 May 2015 (UTC)
Hi Wiki Dan . Can I ask your help... when you google my name in general a box on right hand size of screen comes up like a fact file ... including spouse etc .... at one point his box had my age as somewhere in my 40's.it has since changed . But can I ask your advice about who /what determines what goes in this box? is it wikipedia connected or is it also dictated by someone logging in to a certain area of google(??) Thanks for your help!
- The information Google displays when one searches on your name is no business of Wikipedia. They may or may not be using information at Wikipedia as part of their blurb, but we at Wikipedia can't control that. If there is no reliable for your date of birth, then we should just remove it from the Wikipedia article altogether.
- On a separate note, I see that you've been editing Lisa Lambe again. I've told you on multiple occasions that this is inappropriate. I'm going to have to take the matter to the conflict of interest noticeboard now. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 04:13, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
- RE google. There is a feedback link at the bottom right of the box where you can request removal if information is incorrect. SmartSE (talk) 16:18, 10 May 2015 (UTC)

It has been found that you have been using one or more accounts abusively or have edited logged out to avoid scrutiny. Please review the policy on acceptable alternate accounts. In short, alternate accounts or people to support you should not be used for the purposes of deceiving others into seeing more support for your position. It is not acceptable to use two accounts on the same article, or the same topic area, unless they are publically and plainly disclosed on both your and the other account's userpage.
Your other account(s) have been blocked indefinitely. This is your only warning. If you repeat this behaviour you will blocked from editing without further notice. Thank you. Mike V • Talk 20:23, 24 May 2015 (UTC)
