Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Londralondris, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Adam and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 20:16, 8 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The Rite of Passage (Childbirth)

[edit]

I've just moved your article "The Rite of Passage (Childbirth)" back to your sandbox at User:Londralondris/sandbox. The article is fairly far from what we would consider an acceptable encyclopedic article, so I am moving it back because I believe it will otherwise be deleted. Do you have a campus ambassador with whom you can speak to improve your article for inclusion on the encyclopedia? GorillaWarfare (talk) 02:44, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

What exactly do I need to do in order to make it good enough for Wikipedia?

It does not read as an encyclopedia article at all -- it's considerably more like an essay than anything. I'd recommend checking out WP:TONE and WP:Your first article, but again, if you are working with a Wikipedia ambassador, they might be able to help you one-on-one in more depth. GorillaWarfare (talk) 02:57, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I've once again moved the article back to User:Londralondris/sandbox. You keep moving it to the "Wikipedia" namespace, but I think you mean to move it to the "(Article)" namespace. The "Wikipedia" namespace is for information about editing Wikipedia, such as policies and guidelines. The "(Article)" namespace is for actual articles. I won't stop you from moving the article to the "(Article)" namespace, though I will warn you that there is a good chance the article will be deleted if you move it back without editing it to meet Wikipedia's guidelines. Please stop moving your page around. I have brought it back to your sandbox and its corresponding talk page, and asked your Wiki Ed content expert to get in touch with you. In its current state, it does not belong in article space, and I'm not sure what your intentions are with the other moves. – Train2104 (t • c) 04:36, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hi Londralondris! I'm going to take a look at your sandbox article and give some advice on the article's talk page. Offhand I do agree - it's not really ready for the mainspace just yet. I'll go into more depth over there, though. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 13:25, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

April 2017

[edit]

Hello, I'm Yoshi24517. I noticed that in this edit to Rite of Passage (Childbirth), you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Yoshi24517Chat Very Busy 03:43, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
