ISCB Wikipedia Competition 2013

Bioimage Software Article Needs Expert Review

Hello LuisPedroCoelho,

As someone with expertise in Bioimage Informatics, I would like to ask if you could please review this Wikipedia article regarding Image Studio Lite. Image Studio Lite is free image processing software offered by my company (see my user page) for analyzing Western blots and gels. This article was written to be informative.

The article has been submitted to the Articles for Creation for Wikipedia editors to review and approve. This submission route is best practice for editors with close associations who wish to publish a Wikipedia article. It would be great if you, as an informatics expert, could review this article for verifiability, noteworthiness, and neutral point of view. Any feedback you can offer will be extremely valuable.

Please help me make this article a substantive addition to Wikipedia’s coverage of bioimage processing software.

Brief Bio: To avoid information asymmetry, here is a little aside about me. I am a Science Writer for LI-COR Biosciences. I recently graduated from a Big Ten School with my B.S. in Chemistry. In college, I was able to work as a Research Assistant in Biochemistry, interned as an Analytical Chemist, and worked as a Bioinformatics Technician preparing Gaussian input files from PDB data obtained via RCSB. Although I am deeply interested in the power of computers and data to explain impossibly complex biological interactions, another internship in technical writing inspired me to pursue science writing as a career.
