Welcome![edit]

Hello, Sam at LI-COR, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Thank you for commenting on my article. I have been confused about how to include references that establish notability for a while. But first, I need to stress one important point regarding your comments on my talk page:
  • I have chosen my user name to be transparent about the COI and to show that this is a single user account only. Please see the summary on my user page.
Now, about the article…
  1. Journal references that cite Image Studio Lite (not the full version) have been put in the Further reading section to establish notability specific to the Lite version. Would adding a “Uses” section that references some of these studies work to more explicitly establish notability?
  2. On the AFC page, you mention that the article is not written as an advert, but you mention on my talk page that the COI may make it difficult to write neutrally about the topic. If you found anything that doesn’t sound neutral, could you please point it out to me?
Thanks again for helping me. Sam at LI-COR (talk) 15:21, 9 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
In addition, it has come to my attention that Image Studio Lite has over 10,000 users. I won't add that to the article, obviously, but I think it establishes notability. Sam at LI-COR (talk) 15:50, 9 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Response to request for review[edit]

Sorry, I have no idea how to review articles on Wikipedia, other than reading through it and stating that I think the article is good to go.

--Dscho (talk) 16:45, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Dscho: Reading through the article and telling me your opinion would be very helpful! It will help me get the article up to speed for the Wiki editors who will eventually move the article to the Main Article Space. I would greatly appreciate feedback from a software Wikipedian. -- Sam at LI-COR (talk) 16:52, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • As I said, I think the article is good. Sorry to be not of more help: I am basically not a Wikipedian. To speak the truth, I stumbled over your message only by random chance; I usually do not check messages on Wikipedia (I still use old-fashioned email).

--Dscho (talk) 17:41, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Dscho: Ohh... I understand now. Sorry, in the OP I didn't realize you were saying you read the article and think it's good, not you could read it and say if it was good. Glad to hear you think it works. Thank you for your time! --Sam at LI-COR (talk) 17:52, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Sam at LI-COR. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Image Studio Lite".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Image Studio Lite}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. LorTalk 02:42, 11 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
