Redlink removal?
Hello,
I'm curious on this edit. As far as I've read at WP:REDLINK, we redlink articles that (1) we deem notable/verifiable and (2) we plan to create soon. In the case of both of these redlinks, both applied; and one of my cites referenced both individuals. Is there a reason why I shouldn't be placing redlinks? As far as I understand, it's good practice, and the way certain projects like WP:WOMRED track progress. Cheers, --Engineerchange (talk) 06:17, 21 February 2023 (UTC)

Evaluation of Pakistani sources
Hi,
Like other countries, we are also in need of establishing a "project page" regarding reliable and unreliable sources for Pakistan-related topics. I have prepared an initial draft for the purpose. Please, contribute and share your opinions and assessments on the talk page, so that a consensus can be reach out before moving it to the mainspace:
Draft:Wikipedia:WikiProject Pakistan/Pakistani sources
Thanks. Insight 3 (talk) 13:49, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Insight 3, Thank you for creating this page as it was long awaited, and I will share my contribution in this project page as well. Thanks M.Ashraf333 (talk) 14:40, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
Request on 07:52:35, 27 February 2023 for assistance on AfC submission by Lydia Starr
- Lydia Starr (talk · contribs)
(I created a separate talk page where I posted this reply, but I'm new at this and I think this separate talk page was not the right way to reply. So I'm moving that text here. I hope this is the correct place to respond.) Hello M. Ashraf, responding to your message on the submitted page on Lisa B (Lisa Bernstein): I would like help to figure out what I need to do to avoid deletion of this page. 1) The facts are accurate here even while they may also be presented in a much different format on the website you refer to -- specifically, the exhaustive citations here about various aspects of her work are not given on the website you refer to. Please read down to the sections below the first one to see the extensive independent (secondary), verifiable citations about the subject's publications and other such professional details. You may have been led astray by the initial section submitted here, and I would be glad to alter that as needed, but I need help in understanding what is required. 2) Factual information is indeed similar to that on the website you refer to, but presented much differently: I was careful to avoid a promotional tone and intended instead to create a neutral and informational tone that I believe was successful. Can you point to specific areas where you believe this was not achieved? 3) To respond properly to the copyright issues you refer to, the owner of the website you refer to would likely be willing to add the appropriate Creative Commons notice (copying here for my reference: "unless it explicitly and verifiably has been released to the world under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license or into the public domain and is written in an acceptable tone"). Please advise me about what exact notice would need to be added to that website to permit presentation of similar factual information, unless you are persuaded by this message and further consideration that the extensive secondary citations in the submitted article do indeed create text very different from that website. In summary, there is a set of facts about the subject of this entry, and while some of these facts have been presented on one of her websites, I believe they are presented largely much differently here, given the exhaustive secondary sources cited here. It seems fair that this information should be available in an encyclopedia style on Wikipedia. If a Creative Commons notice on the subject's website would help alleviate the problem, I believe this notice could be placed. Please instruct me more. Thank you!
Lydia Starr (talk) 07:52, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Lydia Starr, Thank you for contacting me. I have removed some of the copyrighted material and rewritten the article and removed speedy deletion tag too. Now to publish this page on mainspace, article needs reliable, secondary and independent sources. It appears the subject is signer and creative professional so she should meet, WP:MUSICBIO and WP:CREATIVE. M.Ashraf333 (talk) 08:26, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you. I see what you did, which is much appreciated, and I understand better. I will seek to find the article to edit to further meet the criteria to resubmit it for publication on mainspace (still learning my way around here). The subject is indeed a singer, literary poet, and creative professional in a third career, hence her notability because of her significant presence in more than one arena. -- LS. Wikimedia Foundation project to improve PageTriage
Hi, as an active New Page Patroller, I wanted to make sure you were aware of an upcoming Wikimedia Foundation project to improve the PageTriage extension. We recently published results of user interviews, and have some findings that we would value patrollers' opinions on. If you haven't yet, please consider adding the project page to your watchlist to stay up to date with our progress! Samwalton9 (WMF) (talk) 13:17, 2 March 2023 (UTC)

Hello, M.Ashraf333,
When you are patrolling pleae look at the page history of articles that you are tagging for deletion. This page was a redirect that was moved around several times, then moved to a completely inappropriate name and blanked. Please do not tag a page for being an "empty article" when an editor has simply blanked a legitimate page, in this case it looks like it was a redirect, in order to get it deleted. Look beyond what is obvious and examine the history of a page to find out what is going on. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 02:49, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not exactly sure what to even do with this page so I'm leaving it for another administrator to evaluate. I've also left a message on the page creator's talk page as the page history is confusing and a mess. Liz Read! Talk! 02:52, 4 March 2023 (UTC)

WP:GNG Criteria
Hi M.Ashraf333. The sources listed for the Pavilion+ article are from newspapers that are credible and important to the Caribbean community, that while may not be mainstream, they are very important and credible for this community. It may not rise to worldwide attention but it is definitely hyper-relevant to the Caribbean community. When you list an article as not meeting the WP:GNG is this from your point of view of what is credible or from an objective point of view? CaribbeanCurator (talk) 18:16, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
- CaribbeanCurator, WP:GNG is a guideline for notability. If the newspapers you are referring to are credible, independent, and contain more than just a passing mention of the article's subject, then they pass GNG. If not, they don't. — Nythar (💬-❄️) 06:39, 11 March 2023 (UTC)
Reply for Your Undo on Syed Mohsin Naqvi's Wiki
I believe that your undo for my contribution was unfair, I believe that my sources correctly cite and reference the fact. Please see Toshakhana Records Pg 446 Item 1. The sources are released officially by the government of Pakistan. I believe that I may have made a mistake by not directly refering to the Inline citation. I'll be revising my edit. LeJawwad (talk) 13:44, 14 March 2023 (UTC)

Woman in Red Mariam Abdullah Al-Jaber
Hi M.Ashraf333, You have moved my article Mariam Abdullah Al-Jaber to a draft with the reason "Not ready". Why? She is a candidate of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red and I followed the WP:WMN10. Please explain your move. Lara Ri2 (talk) 14:16, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for contacting me, candidate of Project Women in Red isn't the guidelines. I moved this page back to draftspace for the reason, the page doesn't meet the criterion of WP:NBASIC as the sources are unreliable and primary. ARAB NEWS just have single name drop, subject needs more in-depth coverage in reliable sources to publish on mainspace. M.Ashraf333 (talk) 14:41, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the quick reply. I understand your point and have double checked my sources. But I think the Arab News sources confirm what I wrote. I also added a source from Harvard University, almeezan.qa and alarab.qa, which are more detailed about Mariam bin Hamad Al Jaber.
- Upon review, I realized that I had not formatted alarb.qa correctly, so I have now corrected that.
- If I understand the WP:GNG correctly, there is no requirement as to how many sources there must be. Nor does it matter if they are all English sources. Or have I misinterpreted this? Lara Ri2 (talk) 16:14, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
Copyvio on Hans Erlenmeyer
I believe the copyvio nomination you provided on Hans Erlenmeyer is invalid, as the source you cited for a copyvio is invalid, as it itself sources from wikipedia. The sections in question were copied from the German wiki page here: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_Erlenmeyer (apparently the same source that the copyvio source in question used). Hello Ashraf333, I'm referring to the article Imran Attari. I added the newspaper references in the article of his speeches. Since they are genuine references with reliable resource, why the were not accepted?

Henry H. Johns edit?
Hello, I'm curious about this edit on Henry H. Johns. I always thought it goes most recent to least recent. I always use Grover Cleveland as my go-to when talking about non-consecutive term infobox syntax. Is there some other policy/practice I'm missing here? --Engineerchange (talk) 18:42, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, the usual practice is from most recent to least recent and I apologize for editing as I did by mistake, now reverted. M.Ashraf333 (talk) 05:15, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
