Question about Kanyawee Songmuang

The BLP passes GNG (Actor) as she is a prominent character in the TV series, Hormones: The Series, and there's quite a bit of buzz about her online among viewers in that age group. It appears to me the BLP needs copyediting and at least a few citations in English. I didn't want to remove your GNG tag and replace it with copyedit tags until I discussed it with you first. Your thoughts will be most appreciated. Atsme📞📧 18:07, 2 March 2017 (UTC)

Hi Atsme - I see it's been nominated for deletion now, so I guess we will just have to see what comes of that - I won't be commenting on the AFD personally, but if you say there are sources, then I encourage you to respond to the AFD and argue the case for a keep vote. It's actually okay if the sources are in another language as long as they pass the reliability test. Mabalu (talk) 00:15, 3 March 2017 (UTC)
Atsme - Good work on getting the article unnominated! Also, sorry for giving you a touch of the "teaching grandmother to suck eggs" treatment! Mabalu (talk) 10:38, 3 March 2017 (UTC)
Thank you, Mabalu. Your input is most welcome, even if it goes against the grain which in this case did not. Intelligent discussion helps keep us humble...or should I spell it umble to keep-up with the yuge new trends in spelling and semantics? ^_^ Atsme📞📧 21:37, 3 March 2017 (UTC)

Zoran

Hello. I noticed you removed categorization for Zoran under Serbian fashion designers. I was under the impression that the category includes people of their pertained birth country as well as identified country in which they work. Please let me know if this is appropriate. Daniel Vosovic was born in USA but Zoran was not and I notice many designers under the categories which were simply born in the country they are categorized under. Hrvatisa (talk) 12:59, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

Also I notice you stated that Zoran is Yugoslav rather than Serbian. Since Yugoslavia has ceased to exist for over 2 decades, those who once took the label of Yugoslav are now classified under their provincial heritage. Zoran was born in Banat, Serbia and posses a Serb name . Hrvatisa (talk) 13:01, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

Croatia

Why did you blatantly remove all my edits from Croatian inventions without discussing it on talk. I have done nothing wrong. Please do not attack me over wikipedia without reason. My edits are not even remotely close to bjelun Hrvatisa (talk) 13:08, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

You know, Hrvatisa, you're actually behaving JUST like Bjelun. Enjoy your sockpuppet investigation, because you had a chance, and you blew it. Mabalu (talk) 13:35, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

Inam R Sehri

hi Malabu; It is Inam R Sehri here. You sent me an e-mail suggesting that my biography page will be deleted.

It is your prerogative, I've no comments to offer.

But just for correction of your record I hereby submit that I've not created this page. The said page about me has been created from Pakistan most probably by or through Ruur007.

On 4th March 2017, I received a text from Pakistan [I'm based in UK] that my page has been seen on Wikipedia. Naturally, out of curiosity, I viewed it and found some grammatical errors in it. I had to correct it and I did it.

Thus rest assured that I corrected the grammar and completed the deficient information [which the page creator might not be knowing] and not a single phrase was added or deleted by my person.

It is your discretion to delete it but before doing so, kindly apprise me that which part of it, which line or phrase has been found wrong, or wrongly referenced or found against some person or organisation or written with malafide intentions etc. I'll be grateful to you and your office.

Now I've seen my page again. I could see that you've mentioned only one book of mine and that too with wrong spelling of my name. This book's first volume was published in 2012 and subsequently three more volumes were out till 2014. The next book The Living History of Pakistan was published in two volumes in 2015 & 2016.

Now who would complete my record on my page; DOB, education, living place, publications etc - I'll not opt to knock any door to complete it on my behalf. Can I complete the info now.

Regards Inam R Sehri

Hello Inam R Sehri - Wikipedia has very strict policies about biographies of living people. Autobiography is a particular no-no - you should not even be editing a page about yourself, even if someone else wrote it. Among the many problems with the article on you are that:
  1. The information within was not cited to reliable sources that demonstrate that you are sufficently notable enough to have an article.
  2. As a BLP (Biography of a Living Person) it is Wikipedia policy that such articles MUST be supported by appropriate third-party sources. BLPs that are not sourced, or cannot be sourced, must, per policy, be deleted - this is policy in order to avoid incorrect information being retained.
  3. As I mentioned above, you should not be editing a page about yourself. The only acceptable instances would be where you need to urgently remove libel, slander, or personal/revealing information about yourself or your family, or reverse cases of blatant page vandalism. Any other edits should be requested on the talk page of the article because this will enable us to maintain unbiased, fair editing.

In addition to this, you may have inadvertently revealed the personal identity and details of the article creator, User:Ruur 007 above, which is not a good thing to do, and is something that could be considered harassment (although I am sure you did so without malicious intent). Per policy: "Posting such information about another editor is an unjustifiable and uninvited invasion of privacy and may place that editor at risk of harm outside their activities on Wikipedia."

By the way, I am not one of the three editors who placed a deletion request on your biography. User:Topcipher placed the first deletion nomination while it was a completely unsourced BLP, and it was subsequently nominated by David.moreno72 as having no assertion to show notability. However, this second nomination was rejected because there WERE assertions of notability. The third nomination was by User:J947, for many of the reasons I explained above. You can read more about the nominations and the reasoning behind them on User talk:Ruur 007. I simply let you know that there was a problem with you editing the biographical article about yourself, and incidentally advised you that the page had issues that MIGHT lead to its deletion.

I apologise for the length of this reply, but I hope it helps clarify. Mabalu (talk) 17:22, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

Bravos de León

Dear Malabu: Thanks for your effusive praise of the Bravos de León article. However, I must explain that I am not responsible for any content of that article. In fact, my one and only contribution as editor was to create a redirect page as complementary information. I suggest you look in the page history and check what I explain. Just revise the dates and names in it. Yours sincerely, MusiCitizen (talk) 12:40, 8 March 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for the message MusiCitizen! Sometimes I really wish the automated Page Curation log/bots would give the option to send these things to a specific editor, rather than simply sending straight to the original creator. Yes, this should have gone to the redirect expander rather than to you. I appreciate your understanding. Mabalu (talk) 14:48, 8 March 2017 (UTC)
Also, apologies for the gushing sycophancy in my response. Mabalu (talk) 14:49, 8 March 2017 (UTC)
No problem, nobody is perfect. Good luck and keep up the good work. MusiCitizen (talk) 17:21, 8 March 2017 (UTC)

Grace Young

From your revert comment I know you're doing this with good intentions, however this case is the same as the example for John Quested given on the Disambiguation wiki page, justifying a two entry disambiguation page. Besides, Grace Young is a common enough name that it justifies a disambiguation page in anticipation of future articles. And seriously, it's a disambiguation page, it's not going to destroy wikipedia. -- Sjschen (talk) 00:57, 22 March 2017 (UTC)

Hi Sjschen, it certainly isn't going to destroy Wikipedia, but it would be better if you created the article FIRST and then modified the disambiguation page, rather than doing what so many people do and dump redlinks in that are unlikely to be created by anyone else anytime soon. Mabalu (talk) 10:00, 22 March 2017 (UTC)

I expanded the article dramatically, including important historical context for the church. Please remove the deletion tag.ArsDiscipulus (talk) 18:08, 25 March 2017 (UTC)

It looks like someone else already did so. Excellent work on the expansion! Mabalu (talk) 12:21, 26 March 2017 (UTC)

William Ogle

Thanks for finding those other Ogles - I'm more at home on Wiktionary[1], so I'm hoping the the new article doesn't break any rules! — Saltmarshtalk 10:52, 28 March 2017 (UTC)

No worries, thanks for clarifying that last Ogle, all I saw was a redlink that didn't seem to be an article, which I removed. I see you created it now, so thanks! Just added a defaultsort (so that in category lists he will be listed under O) and some categories. I don't think it breaks any rules so no worries there, the main rule is that disambig pages should ideally have at least three blue links, but in certain cases, two are acceptable. Sudhan Education Conference

Dear Mabalu you see the sudhan education conference page you ask be commercial organization no this was welfare organization establish in 1934 this organization work in poor people of Jammu and Kashnmir most of student in scholarships — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sardar Jay Khan (talkcontribs) 04:51, 31 March 2017 (UTC)

Wrong person. I simply replaced the deletion tag that you should not have removed from an article you created yourself. Please take this up with the people who actually deleted the article. Mabalu (talk) 09:00, 31 March 2017 (UTC)

Rian Antonelli

Hi, We are currently still working to improve the Wikipedia article for Rian Antonelli and will continue to work on it until it is complete or verifiable. We are trying to build his online brand and online presence. If you can please bear with me and consider not deleting this article. We just put this page up today and clearly we are still working on it.

Thank you! Adriano2591 (talk) 11:46, 31 March 2017 (UTC)

I would recommend doing such an article via WP:Articles for creation, and also please note that when editors tag articles, these are designed to offer tips and advice on issues with the article for improvement - when you just abruptly removed them all, like you had other notes in the edit history, that did not suggest you wanted to take anyone else's suggestions or advice, even if it was designed to try and help improve the article. I'm not a deletionist, I try to give most pages a chance and hope for the best that editors will improve them after seeing the tags pointing out the problems. On a serious note, your phrase, "We are trying to build his online brand and online presence." suggests that you are editing with a conflict of interest, to promote the subject - which is not what Wikipedia is about. Wikipedia is intended for subjects who are already notable, and not to be used as a promotional tool to make subjects notable or advertise them. Once Rian Antonelli has received coverage and recognition elsewhere, in reliable sources, then he would be valid for a Wikipedia article - but it doesn't work the other way round. If he has no online brand or presence, then Wikipedia isn't here to change that. Mabalu (talk) 13:00, 31 March 2017 (UTC)
