Orphaned non-free media (Image:Freaky bean logo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Freaky bean logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:28, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Freaky Bean Coffee Company[edit]

Hi Magic Monkey Meat - the difference between the page that I deleted and Starbucks is that the page I deleted was written, basically, as advertising copy. That's what allowed me to speedily delete it. The Starbucks page, meanwhile, complies with Wikipedia's policy on neutral point of view, to the point of including a substantial section on criticism and controversy. I'm not saying that the Freaky Bean doesn't "deserve" an article - I have no idea whether it does or doesn't. I'm just saying that the article that I deleted was totally promotional in tone and "would need to be fundamentally rewritten to become encyclopedic" (quoting from [[WP:CSD|the criteria for speedy deletion). If you want to attempt that re-write, go ahead (I can't guarantee that it won't be deleted for other reasons). Please let me know if you have any other questions. Fair use rationale for Image:Freakybeanlogo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Freakybeanlogo.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. AfD nomination of The Freaky Bean Coffee Company[edit]

An editor has nominated The Freaky Bean Coffee Company, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Freaky Bean Coffee Company and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 18:00, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

COI[edit]

Hi there. Just thought I'd drop you a line as you seem to be having trouble getting started here. I know it seems there are a thousand things to know, but this page is really the whole project in a nutshell, although you may also want to read up on conflict of interest editing. Don't be discouraged by the deletions and so forth, Wikipedia has millions of people working on it and there's always lots of lively debate. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help you find your way around. Good Luck. Beeblbrox (talk) 20:20, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Policies...[edit]

Hi there - I noticed your comment on the AfD about not being aware of the politics here, which I took to mean a reference to our policies. Your articles need to have reliable sources (read up on this at WP:RS) and they need to be verifiable (read up at WP:V). They also need to be sufficiently notable - the general policy for this is at WP:N but there are links for guidelines on specific subjects such as those for companies.

If you have any questions about any of these or anything else, I'm happy to lend a paw, just click "talk" by my user name and leave me a message. Best wishes Fritzpoll (talk) 20:38, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
