David Ginty

[edit]

Hi. I am one of the three editors who have placed the "notability" notice on the David Ginty page. Please see Wikipedia:Notability (academics). While it is not clear that the subject of the article fails to meet the notability guidelines, it is also not clear that he does. Also, the references provided are rather weak-- one of them is clearly written by the subject and the other, although it mentions the awards, fails to specify what work they were based on, and might well have been written based on material submitted by the subject. What is wanted is clearly objective material documenting the subject's accomplishments.

Also, it appears to me likely that you may have a conflict of interest with regard to this article; if you are David Ginty, or have a relationship to the subject, you should read Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy. We take such matters quite seriously. Thank you for your attention to these matters. -- Mwanner | Talk 23:47, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Followup: I asked another editor to have a look at the article, and his response is here. You will note that he took the trouble to improve the references, and although he indicates some reservations, still, I felt it reasonable to remove the notability notice. Cheers! -- Mwanner | Talk 00:47, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
