Apr 09 :: Response to edit revert notification on Super Mario RPG[edit]

Hi, I won't do it again, it was a mistake because I lied about the two games because the graphics of DK Country seemed to be the same on Super Mario RPG.

Sorry for the vandalism.

Er, I didn't mean to come off as abrupt or mean... sorry. I just found it weird that oneself would get mixed up with DKC and SMRPG... Sorry. Manfred (talk) 11:33, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I answer in the two "talks": No problem, it was my fault too because I changed that when it was wrong, next when you sent me this message, I discovered that Rare developed only DKC and not SMRPG. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.47.248.72 (talk) 10:40, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Apr 16 :: Inquiry about proposed GA review of Five Nights at Freddy's (series)[edit]

Hi, you posted on my talk page that you would be doing the review for the Five Nights at Freddy's (series) page, but it seems you have reverted your statements. Why? Are you not willing to review it anymore? WackyWikiWoo (talk) 04:27, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@WackyWikiWoo: I am, but have been very busy at the moment. I won't to a fully-fledged to-the-max review, but a normal one like most would. It will come eventually. For, I am Manfred von Karma, haha. Perfection's in the name, even though I'm technically dead. Manfred (talk) 06:43, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Apr 24 :: Inquiry about Five Nights at Freddy's GA Review[edit]

Hey Manfred, this is WackyWikiWoo again (nominator of the FNaF page for GA). Just need some clarification on what exactly you were looking to be added when you said "there still needs to be a lot more content" in the article? You directed us to the Super Smash Bros. page, but could you be a bit more specific on what exactly we should take from it? Thanks, WackyWikiWoo (talk) 09:23, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

With love!
Hello again @WackyWikiWoo:! Sorry if I was unclear about the second revision of the review. I meant some of the suggestions I made in the first revision have not been fulfilled.
Previous suggestions:
  1. As Five Nights at Freddy's is a small series: expansion is required of all parts of the Video games section (most important)
And some new suggestions:
  1. 'Leon Riskin' is not creditable enough to be included in the Composers tab of the infobox
  2. Expansion of information and inclusion of additional images in Common Elements (see: Sonic the Hedgehog (series))
I oversee all the edits yourself and your team of editors make. I can say, compared to other reviews, there is a dedicated team of people who want this article to succeed than the usual of the one nominator who, when a review is denied, gives up. I commend you for all your work! Have a cookie. Manfred (talk) 09:42, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Manfred von Karma: Alright, I'll tag active editors so they can see this for future reference- @Empoleonmaster23: @Lemaroto: @VeenM64: @TheJoebro64:
Thanks for that message at the end :) I haven't had much experience with GA reviewers, but you're great too! As clear as possible in your verdicts and always ready to answer questions. We appreciate it. WackyWikiWoo (talk) 04:08, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

May 01 :: Inquiry about Theme Hospital GA2 Review[edit]

Hi,

Thanks for reviewing the article. It's months overdue.

I hope I've fixed the flow issues with the third paragraph, although I wasn't sure how to better introduce the reputation mechanic. I just hope my changes did that too. As for an additional screenshot, I'm not sure another gameplay screenshot will comply with NFCC. I can't find a screenshot of the developers or the game early in development online, although I have access to articles in the Bullfrog Bulletin and Edge magazines that have some of the latter. Should I scan one? I don't see how else I can obtain one. If so, I might do the same for Dungeon Keeper if and when I return, as I'm hoping maybe to get that to FA. Adam9007 (talk) 03:39, 1 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Adam9007: I think I should be able to excuse the image criteria. There are circumstances in which images may be difficult to upload. As for the rest of the changes, I will evaluate them on most likely the 6th of May. From what you've written here, I can foresee Theme Hospital being a GA status. If you have any further inquiries about other fixes in the article (I can be unclear sometimes), please write on my talk page! Manfred (talk) 06:47, 1 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

May 02 :: Comment on user page[edit]

Wasn't expecting to see a link to my essay on your user page! . Adam9007 (talk) 02:42, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I read the essay and thought about how many people I could send this to in the future. Particularly with those who think that "Wii U was the worst Nintendo console" is a valid contribution to the Wii U article. Don't know how many times I've come across Wii U vandalism at this point. May 08 :: Inquiry about Micro Machines (video game) GA Review[edit]

Hi,

Thanks for reviewing the article. You say "Breakfast" is not an environment (Line 1, Para 1, Gameplay), but the article says environments such as breakfast and pool tables,. I thought that it is clear that "breakfast" here means breakfast tables? They're not separated by a comma, whereas the other items in the list are. Adam9007 (talk) 16:14, 7 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Adam9007: Upon reading I thought it sounded a little weird. It does make it clear in the paragraph that the environment is a breakfast table but the actual sentence states just "breakfast". This is such a minor thing, so I don't really care, but if it was upto me, I would include some distinguishable. Manfred (talk) 20:51, 7 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

May 26 :: Request to give opinion in Flappy Bird's listing on List of video games notable for negative reception[edit]

Hey, Manfred, I wanted to ask you something. There's a ongoing talk page discussion at Talk:List of video games notable for negative reception over whether or not the video game Flappy Bird meets the inclusion criteria for the list. It's currently a 2-versus-2 situation, so nothing will happen according to WP:NOCONSENSUS. Could you cast a tie-breaking vote? Here are the arguments:

  • The argument for Flappy Bird's inclusion on the list surrounds the fact that it was poorly received by journalists, despite its popularity. The argument for inclusion is strengthened by the fact that many of the journalists who covered the game portrayed it in a negative way were from non-VG RSes, such as The Washington Post and CNET, and that it got a few abysmal ratings from VG RSes, like USgamer's 1/5.
  • The argument against Flappy Bird is that some feel it wasn't negatively received enough. The game does have a Metacritic score that's above 50% (although the GameRankings score is lower than 50 at 48.17%), and had positive user feedback from players.

Hope you can help. ~ TheJoebro64 (talk) 11:46, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@TheJoebro64: Ok! Manfred (talk) 00:51, 27 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@TheJoebro64: Your request has been fulfilled. I have given my honest opinion on the talk page. Thank you! Manfred (talk) 01:21, 27 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Jun 07 :: Inquiry about changes to plot summary of Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (Nintendo DS)[edit]

Wondering what the reasoning was for removing all information on the alternate ending. "An alternate ending can be encountered where, rather than a car crash putting Mike in a coma, it is shown that Mike and Heather were chasing fireflies and Mike climbed up and fell from a tree. Many claim that this ending is only available on the "Drawn to Life Collection" cartridge, which contains both Drawn to Life games. However, it is possible to get this ending on certain single copies of Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter. There has been much speculation suggesting that the changed ending here is a result of the player's answers to the question "What do you remember of that night?" at the beginning of the game, but it is also possible that the publishers of the game released new versions of the original cartridge with the changed ending, due to the original being too dark for kids. No official statement has been made on the subject." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.136.208.198 (talk) 21:24, 6 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @67.136.208.198: The reason why I removed the ending of the paragraph was because it makes the Plot section overly long and the extra information is not needed. Usually, in a video games article, alternate endings would be included in the Plot section, yet it was not necessary, as it was not included in the original game. However, I can't leave vital information such as a re-release out of the article, so I will include information about its alternate release in the Development section, as Development covers topics like development, release, budget, and company issues. Apologies for not including reasoning in the edit summary. ~ Manfred (talk page) 06:46, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Jun 19 :: Comment on change revert of The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages[edit]

I'm on the Wikipedia typo team and trying to eliminate the consecutive uses of the word "the." (Many are simple typos, often in redirects. When they're in references with errors, they're getting marked with the 'sic' template.)

Can you reconsider your reversion of my deletion of the duplicate "the" on this page that you did a short time ago? It's a misconception that it's grammatically correct to have two consecutive appearances of the word "the" when it's part of a title that would otherwise be preceded by the definite article. Informal grammar rules are much more forgiving for spoken than written English, but say the sentence that you changed out loud, and you'll see what I mean - it sounds silly. To be consistent, there are several other times on the page where "the" should appear two consecutive times, for instance, "Gameplay of The Legend of Zelda series" but correctly does not. There are also dozens of other Wikipedia pages that mention the Legend of Zelda, which also correctly do not have "the" twice.

When there is an adjective before The Legend of Zelda, it's fine to place "the" before the adjective, such as "the original The Legend of Zelda. So an alternative is to recast the sentence entirely or insert a word, although I don't think that's practical for all the pages that mention The Legend of Zelda series. (And I believe that all uses of Legend of Zelda in the previous sentence and this one are correct, with only one "the").

Regards,

Ira

Jun 19 :: Request for comment on Sonic the Hedgehog (2006 video game) FAC[edit]

Hey, Manfred. Could you comment on my current FAC? (even though it's a bad game?) It's been a little more than a week since the last comment. ~ TheJoebro64 (talk) 22:38, 19 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@TheJoebro64: Ok, I'll hop on it when I can. Thanks :3 ~ Manfred (talk page) 01:38, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@TheJoeBro64: Hey; sorry I haven't been able to add to your FAC. I'll be on holidays for about a week and thus unable to contribute to Wikipedia. When I'm off, I'll get to it when I can. Thanks. ~ Manfred (talk page) 06:29, 29 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
