Sockpuppet investigation[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Marcos Hunter, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Blocked temporarily[edit]

Hi there. I have blocked you temporarily, as your recent edits appear to be at a speed more typical of a bot or automated script than from a human. Per our bot policy, all bots must be declared and have approval before being run on Wikipedia. Could you please clarify for the community whether or not you are running a bot or other automated script? ♠PMC(talk) 04:52, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm not using a bot, I open several pages in the browser, edit them and then save one after another. The speed is motivated because I've the main changes copied, I just paste in several pages and then save all one after another. Could you please unlock me? Someone reported that I'm a Sockpuppet, I can't protect myself from this complaint if I am blocked. Marcos Hunter (talk) 05:00, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Copy, I'm going to unblock you in a second, but may I suggest that in the future you get consensus for these kinds of widespread, high-speed changes to highly-visible pages before making them? A conversation at someplace like Wikipedia:WikiProject United States would be a good start. I'm not going to revert you myself, but I do think you will get some pushback from other editors on these unilateral changes. ♠PMC(talk) 05:12, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
For one, these maps show the borders of U.S. states with lower quality. The Hawaii version definitely goes about it in a worse way than the original. Master of Time (talk) 05:17, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
PMC Do you want me to reverse my edits? If I did something wrong I apologize. My younger sister and I wanted to give the pages a new design, but if this is wrong, we'll change our mind. Marcos Hunter (talk) 05:22, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Master of Time The low quality of the border is because of the high resolution. Marcos Hunter (talk) 05:22, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I think self-reverting and then initiating a discussion would be a good way to go about things, yes. It's not necessarily that it's wrong or even that your images are bad (I am not an image editor so I have no opinion one way or the other, don't take that as an endorsement), more that you didn't check to see what other people thought before initiating a big pile of very high-speed changes. ♠PMC(talk) 05:30, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I mean, I personally care way less than some people on the project (who I expect to give you more of a hassle, possibly including a mass revert), but it would be good if you could magnify Hawaii on your map in a similar way to its previous version. Master of Time (talk) 05:39, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Mark Revert your edits, I told you to edit only if the quality was higher, I saw was bad, It's only possible see the borders with a microscope!! Allice Hunter (talk) 05:43, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
PMC and Master of Time It's not necessary, those images were very bad, I'm considered a good user in the wikipedia PT, I don't wanna be recognized here as "the person who do terrible works". Allice Hunter (talk) 05:43, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It's cool, you don't need to fight about it, just be more careful next time. ♠PMC(talk) 06:00, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Allice I already finished, sorry for my mistake :/ Marcos Hunter (talk) 06:03, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
