Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Mariomescudero. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Mario Escudero, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

Bbb23 (talk) 20:37, 24 October 2021 (UTC) Hi, and thank you for your message, which by the looks of it I have broken every rule in the book, since I am the son of the person I am writing about. So no go and I will have to delete the entire page and write everything on my own portal. Is there any way I can export this article so that I don´t lose all the work I have been doing for the past week+? Thank you in advance and for letting me know, since I really thought Wikipedia was the best place to put all this information I have been badgered about writing for more than 50 years! Thanks for letting me know.--Mariomescudero (talk) 01:53, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information on exporting a Wikipedia page can be found here. Greyjoy talk 03:46, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Greyjoy, I think I have what I need. Is there some way I can ask wikipedia to restore the version of this article from 4 weeks ago so that with this it deletes everything I´ve done since and leave the article the way it was before I started editing 2 weeks ago? Thanks for your guidance or suggestion.--Mariomescudero (talk) 16:04, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No worries mate, I have restored the old version of the article. Greyjoy talk 20:26, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Strike that, I have reverted my edit. Bbb23 pointed out that there is plenty of usable information which can be sorted through. Greyjoy talk 21:22, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

OK, but from what I see, the version you have restored is not the last one. Notwithstanding, that is ok if you believe the info that is already on this version complies with Wiki norms. In the short term, I won´t edit any more until I have had a chance to look at the guides you all sent me. BTW, is there anything I need to do so that the article appears again on searches both in English and Spanish? (e.g. when I now search in the Spanish version for "Mario Escudero" it no longer finds anything on him...Thank u again and my apoligies to u and your other colleagues for all the trouble. Cheers.--Mariomescudero (talk) 04:58, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What you see at the moment in the version which has been heavily edited by Bbb23 since my last comment. I am not really sure about the situation with the Spanish wiki version of this article as I have not had anything to do with other language wikis. Greyjoy talk 06:09, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ok thank u Grey! No problem, I guess the spanish version will appear...eventually. Thank u for all your help and patience. Cheers.--Mariomescudero (talk) 06:22, 26 October 2021 (UTC) Hi Greyjoy, was just reading the wiki after it was edited and see that the entire list of his recordings has been removed...all his records and in the export I did it was not downloaded either...I think it was because the table was collapsed when I exported to a PDF. Is there some way I can get that list back, because it had more than 35 records listed in table format with all the references, artists, years, and credits...If you do not want to put it on wikipedia, that is ok, but I would really appreciate being able to get that list back...Thank you.--Mariomescudero (talk) 20:20, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Here is the edit view of the version which included the recording list, so that you can copy it from there. Hope this helps. Greyjoy talk 00:31, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Perfect Greyjoy, got it. Thank u for your fast reply. Cheers.--Mariomescudero (talk) 06:41, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
