I tripped over a misattributed link on this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_End_of_Time_(Doctor_Who) In the effort to verify before editing, I found this page whose text is identical to the WP entry: https://alchetron.com/The-End-of-Time-(Doctor-Who) Question: Is there anything a WP editor should do? Flag it? Think philosophically, "Well, that's the internet for you." and move on?

misattributed link= "CGI Adipose" is linked to the entry for adipose tissue and not what it means from the context, which is using CGI to add extras to a scene, where "Adipose" is either a command in a CGI software program or a third-party add-on.

@Marjimac: Text from Wikipedia is allowed to be used on other sites with attribution, at the bottom of every Wikipedia page it states 'Text is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License 4.0;'. Looking on that Alcheron page, at the bottom it states 'The End of Time (Doctor Who) Wikipedia (Text) CC BY-SA' so they have complied with the requirements of the CC licence and hence it's all good.
Not quite sure what you are talking about RE CGI Adipose, if you could clarify Oh, I see now... it should probably be linked to List of Doctor Who universe creatures and aliens#Adipose - RichT|C|E-Mail 00:19, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for training my eyes to look for attribution. I'm impressed that you located the Adipose entry! I'm slightly embarrassed to say that I have seen at least one Doctor Who episode with Adipose. I appreciate that you took the time to answer my question. Thank you :) Marjimac (talk) 01:53, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
