Use of Jawi names for Proton and Perodua vehicles

[edit]

Hi Masa 117,

Thank you for editing Proton Saga, Proton Saga (second generation), Proton Prevé, Proton Iriz and Perodua Axia. Your efforts are welcomed and appreciated. I noticed that you've added the Jawi names for the above cars in the introduction. However, Proton and Perodua only use standard 'ABC' alphabets, and I've never seen them use the Jawi alphabet before in their products. In any case, if you wish to include the Jawi name for these cars, then there should also be Malay, Mandarin and Tamil names too, for equality. In my honest opinion, the use of extra names in different languages in the above articles is not necessary or redundant. However, if you would like to create / translate separate Jawi language articles for each of the above cars, you are more than welcomed to do it.

Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.

Best regards, Aero777 (talk) 15:15, 16 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Masa 117,
I noticed that you re-added the Jawi and Malay names for Proton Iriz and Proton Prevé, but have yet to provide any justification. Please explain, why do you think it's important or necessary to add the Jawi and Malay names for the above cars ? The Malay name is exactly the same as the standard name, and the Jawi name is also the same, but with Jawi alphabets instead. I understand that Jawi is a popular language in Malaysia, but when I searched for Proton Prevé's Jawi name, ڤروتون ڤرۏي on Google, nothing came up. This is unlike when I searched for 현대 엘란트라, which is the Korean name for Hyundai Elantra, where there are hundreds of thousands of search results. Clearly, the use of Jawi names for Malaysian cars are not necessary or redundant, because no one uses the Jawi names. There is no evidence that the Jawi name you used is even the correct spelling either, as you have not cited your reference(s). Hence, it does not qualify under Wikipedia guidelines.
Until you can justify why it is necessary to add the Jawi names and Malay names for Proton and Perodua cars, I will continue to revert your edits.
Sincerely,

Penggunaan nama Jawi untuk kereta Proton dan Perodua

[edit]

Hi Masa 117,

Terima kasih atas penyuntingan anda di Proton Saga, Proton Saga (second generation), Proton Prevé, Proton Iriz and Perodua Axia.

Terima kasih atas kerjasama anda.

Sekian, Aero777 (talk) 15:15, 16 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Malaysia

[edit]

According to Malaysia article, only Malay (Latin) alphabet and English are national scripts, thus it does not seem appropriate to add names in Malay to that page. Materialscientist (talk) 03:12, 21 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Malaysian Meteorological Department

[edit]

Hello Masa 117,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Malaysian Meteorological Department for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. Take a look at our suggestions for essential content in short articles to learn what should be included.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. George.Edward.CTalkContributions 08:52, 6 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2014 Peninsula Malaysia tornado outbreak, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Klang. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
