Nicosia
[edit]Hello and welcome! I'll try to help, although as I said to others as well, I am rather busy in real life currently. If you discuss and do not try to ram through changes, I assure you you won't get blocked or anything. Just don't lose your temper. It would certainly help the article and defuse the issue if more edits of a non-controversial nature were made as well. On the issue of representation, I think that as long as the situation is clearly stated (I don't think "illegal" will fly, "unilateral" or "self-proclaimed" is both more accurate and more neutral-ish) both entities can be presented. However there is one major point: if I understand correctly, the Greek Cypriot municipality claims jurisdiction over the entire city, while the Turkish municipality only over Northern Nicosia. Am I right in this? If so, then it is clear that the two cannot be presented as equal rivals, i.e. the Nicosia Municipality legally covers the entire city, while the Northern Nicosia Municipality is essentially a breakaway administration and limits its own claims to a portion of the city. - Do you reallly call that a discussion? Some POV-based arguments lacking any reliable sources are not considered discussion. --Seksen (talk) 14:13, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
- I do. You can't simply revert changes that took a good 2 weeks of research. The article was really poor and each section has citations of references that are needed. I'm sure you don't mean that UN Security Council resolutions are NOT good references?? Or do you? Masri145 (talk) 14:17, 10 August 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Masri. I would like to remind you of the three revert rule which disallows any user of performing more than three reverts in 24 hours. You are making reasoned arguments on the complex issue of Nicosia's partition, so it would be counterproductive if you were blocked and not be able to participate in the discussion. That's my sincere opinion. Take it FWIW. Dr.K. λogosπraxis 16:43, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
Now you are doing the same in Northern Cyprus article and if you continue I will report you. Best. --E4024 (talk) 11:00, 28 November 2012 (UTC)
Why?
[edit]Hi, Masri145. Why are you removing stubbornly ?
The Nicosia Municipality is responsible for all the municipal duties and responsibility on the southern part of city. The Nicosia Turkish Municipality, founded in 1958, carried out municipal duties on the northern part of city. (Phoebe Koundouri, Water Resources Allocation: Policy and Socioeconomic Issues in Cyprus, p. 70.)

Hi Takabeg. Because it simply doesn't make sense. Its wrong english. It says carried. Until when? Is it still doing that? Why? The answer is that it's de facto carrying out municipal duties because of the Turkish occupation.
- You can improve "wrong" English. Anyway other users will improve that article. I prepare and gather detail information to create the article South Nicosia. Thank you. Takabeg (talk) 10:09, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
@Takabeg: Kolay gelsin. Waiting to see the article impatiently... --E4024 (talk) 13:51, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
- South Nicosia would be a POV fork of Nicosia. The city is recognised internationally as Nicosia not as "South Nicosia". Δρ.Κ. λόγοςπράξις 12:21, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
Don't change title without consensus. If you want you can use Wikipedia:Requested moves. Takabeg (talk) 07:35, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
If you oppose the move you can give your reasons in the talk page. Masri145 (talk) 07:38, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
- Please do not change consensus edit in Nicosia unless you convince the other editors. --E4024 (talk) 13:59, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
