July 2020[edit]

Hello, I'm Ganbaruby. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to M. F. Husain because they seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you.   Ganbaruby!  (Say hi!) 14:54, 2 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to New media. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. [1] MrOllie (talk) 11:49, 7 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. Hey Mr.Ollie, Adding an external link to the link media page was inappropriate. I did not read the topic correctly, and I am sorry for that. I am very much aware of the Wikipedia guidelines, and I am glad that it has been removed. Apart from that, all of the other edits were relevant to the respective pages.Could you please tell me why all of the other edits got taken down? Just wanted to ask you if you could have another look on my previous edits. There were no intention of spamming. I would like to hear from you soon. Max123abc (talk) 14:29, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Every one of your edits added this spam link to Wikipedia, that's why they were all taken down. Your account is not the first one to have done this. If this link gets added again, I think it is very likely that it will be added to Wikipedia's link blacklist. - MrOllie (talk) 11:33, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Ganburuby, I was wondering why are these external links are inappropriate? The external links that I have added were relevant to the topic and provided other genuine pieces of information regarding that topic. I don't understand what sort of inappropriate content was there? Also, I have checked and found out there are external links on these pages providing similar information, then why only my external links to be treated as inappropriate? I wanted to ask if you could have another look at my edits and if I am doing something wrong, could you please tell me the reason behind that, so it gets sorted out the next time. Thank you, and Regards. I would like to hear from you soon. Max123abc (talk) 13:14, 21 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
