Project

[edit]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. I saw your note about your school project. I mentioned it at WP:ANI. Too often these projects tend to be ill-advised. It looks to me like your project is intended to be genuinely constructive, and we appreciate that. So if you find you have questions or concerns, don't hesitate to ask other editors. Good luck with your project! ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots20:06, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I saw the note over at the noticeboard, but I'm only here to comment on one thing in particular. In this talk page edit you use the plural "we" to refer to yourself, leading me to believe that this account will be used by more than one person. Because of the attribution requirement of Wikipedia's license (see the bottom of any page), we do not allow accounts to be used by more than one physical person. If multiple people want to edit together on an article, they need to register separate accounts. This also has the bonus up-side that when different accounts are used, multiple persons may edit simultaneously, rather than only one at a time. If you're having trouble registering enough accounts (if I recall, only a certain number can be registered per day from a single IP), send an email to accounts-enwiki-l@lists.wikimedia.org to get them all registered. Cheers. lifebaka++ 21:32, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I came here to say the same thing, but as Lifebaka has explained it I will just add a Welcome message with some useful links:

Welcome!

Hello, Meaghanplatania, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Roanoke Colony

[edit]

I left you a note about using edit summaries on Talk:Roanoke Colony. If you have any questions during your editing, you're welcome to ask me at any time, here or on my talk page. Welcome! Qwyrxian (talk) 23:51, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries

[edit]

If you want your edits at Roanoke Colony to be taken seriously then you need to start including edit summaries about what and why you're doing and not ignore advice from other editors. SlightSmile 21:45, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
