September 2019

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm PamD. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Sarah Thomas (marathon swimmer), but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Wikipedia does not include personal data such as date of birth of living people unless this is published in reliable independent sources. Please do not re-add unless you can also add such a source. Thanks. PamD 17:23, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sarah Thomas edits

[edit]

I've just spent quite a time cleaning up Sarah Thomas (marathon swimmer) after your edits. Yes, the idea was fine, to tidy up bulleted lists into paragraphs but you don't seem to have worked out how to use references in the style used in this article. Another time, please go more carefully and check that your references are actually working. Please also note that refs go after punctuation (eg after the full stop at the end of a sentence). Thanks.

I see that the only edits you've made have been to this article. If you are Sarah, or are a friend, family member or other associate of hers, then you need to read WP:COI and make any necessary declarations etc. Thanks. PamD 08:22, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Pam, for cleaning up Sarah's page and pointing me to the COI page. I regret that I caused so much trouble with my interference and have declared my COI on her talk page. I will not edit Sarah's page in the future. Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to reduce the harm done. 173.46.236.113 (talk) 11:23, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
