CSD U5

Hi Metaloaf. I've just declined a couple of your speedy deletion nominations while clearing CAT:CSD and I thought I'd let you know. I'm not convinced that aggressively using WP:CSD#U5 on single-sentence userpages by very new users is very helpful, and is extremely unwelcoming to potential new users. Sure, someone who's loading their userspace with blog posts or clear promotion needs to be stopped, but a sentence or two describing the person (even if it's kinda promotional) is unlikely to cause any major issues - many people will initially think of their userpage like a profile, and putting a sentence or two about yourself or your company is far from indicative of bad faith. Someone getting their userpage tagged for deletion ten minutes after they start editing is not likely to feel great about contributing. Thanks ~ mazca ^talk 00:19, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Before I made any changes to the John B. Nalbandian page, I posed on the "talk" section that the "Personal Life" paragraph was not accurate and that I had proof. An editor named "JocularJellyfish" gave me permission to make the change in response. ArbCom 2018 election voter message

Hello, Metaloaf. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
