Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer be able to have them marked as minor by default. For more information on what a minor edit is, see WP:MINOR or feel to get in touch.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 23:26, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you may have added public domain content to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as GPS signals. You are welcome to import appropriate public domain content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Public-domain sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any public domain content you have already imported is fully attributed. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 14:21, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not 100% sure how this "talk" is meant to work. Am I responding in the right place?

I moved the reference for the content I added (which you correctly identified as coming from public sources) from the end of the list up to the top so it's clearer where the content below comes from. Does this resolve the issue you're pointing out? I'm afraid my Wikipedia skills are nearly nonexistent. I just wanted to add something I found useful to a somewhat outdated article. I believe my attempts at attribute meet the requirements you point to. If not Diannaa, if you would be so kind as to help me I will fix it as needed. Thanks.
