Welcome!
Suggestion Just a small suggestion: use the Show Preview button instead of the save page button. Then you can gradually make changes, fix your own typos, et cetera, and once it is complete you can click on Save Page. That also cuts down on the edits in the history, which makes it easier for others to track who changed what. Sir Isaac Lime 01:51, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
Response to ORV edit comment With all due respect, you have an entire article to glorify and give a how-to on ORVs. Edward Abbey was not some obscure American writer. He was quite famous and he was a very loud (although not always politically-correct) voice on conservation. I'd suggest that instead of removing a quote that puts a human voice on the damage caused by ORVs, you continue to build the strength of your article in other areas. Also- I do not wish to personally attack you. Thanks for understanding. Also- there is nothing stopping you from discrediting Abbey too. He had lots of enemies as well as fans, and I'm sure you can find something.
ORVs
[edit]I don't have a problem with a list, although I don't know how you can objectively draw a line between what belongs and what doesn't. Having what could potentially be such a long list in the article would be just too much. Dismas|(talk) 15:41, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
- Sounds fine but ORV should be expanded to off-road vehicles and Popular Culture should not be capitalized according to article naming standards. Also, film and television show titles should be in italics, songs in double quotes, and album titles in italics as well. This is all in the MoS. And yes, I'm an off roader too. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:NSRA.JPG
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:NSRA.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:53, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Articles for deletion nomination of List of off-roading organizations
[edit]I have nominated List of off-roading organizations, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of off-roading organizations. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Non-free rationale for File:Silverlake.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Silverlake.JPG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The article Mounds Recreation Area has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Article lacks notability. No WP:SIGCOV in reliable sources.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JoeNMLC (talk) 12:20, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
