File permission problem with File:Lindsay Czarniak on SportsCenter.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Lindsay Czarniak on SportsCenter.png, which you've sourced to https://twitter.com/lindsayczarniak. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mosmof (talk) 01:03, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

File copyright problem with File:Lindsay Czarniak on SportsCenter.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Lindsay Czarniak on SportsCenter.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Mosmof (talk) 01:03, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for March 12[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of College Basketball on CBS personalities, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Rachel Nichols (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Saint Peter's Prep Athletics Logo.png[edit]

A tag has been placed on File:Saint Peter's Prep Athletics Logo.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Eeekster (talk) 23:45, 9 May 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Saint Peter's Baseball.png)[edit]

Ambox warning blue.svg Thanks for uploading File:Saint Peter's Baseball.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:18, 24 May 2013 (UTC)

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Tiago Splitter, you may be blocked from editing. Zagalejo^^^ 02:37, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

So, what's this about? I can appreciate clever vandalism, but joking about someone's death isn't cool. (Plus, I've been seeing this same sort of edit for several months now. It's already been done at many other basketball bios. It's not original or interesting. It's just stupid, and it wastes people's time.) Zagalejo^^^ 04:27, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

Problems with upload of File:2014 Women's Final Four Logo.png[edit]

We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Non-free use of File:NBA on ESPN 2010-11 Scoring Graphic Timeouts.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:NBA on ESPN 2010-11 Scoring Graphic Timeouts.png. However, there is a concern that the use of the image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. Details of this problem, and which specific criteria that the image may not meet, can be obtained by going to the image description page. If you feel that this image does meet those criteria, please place a note on the image description or talk page explaining why. Do not remove the {{di-fails NFCC}} tag itself.

An administrator will review this file within a few days, and having considered the opinions placed on the image page, may delete it in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion or remove the tag entirely. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Hello. Where did you get the wordmark from? I looked not the Missouri page on www.sportslogos.net and cannot find it. You should know that WP wants you to provide a direct link to the page you found it on. If isn't fixed, then I'll tag it. Thanks, Corkythehornetfan(talk) 11:53, 8 April 2014 (UTC)

Watch yourself[edit]

You might want chill it with name calling and do some research on Wikipedia policies because every single word in the edit summary is good way to get your ass banned. "I can't believe how stupid you are" Violates WP:IUC and it makes you subject to review by the Wikipedia arbitration committee and punishment can include a block. Second, when you have an issue with another editor, you are supposed to do like I am doing right now and go to their talkpage and discuss the issue. The way you SHOULD OF handled it is when you saw my revert, go to my talkpage and say that the NCAA changed the name of the Round of 64 and the Round of 32.--Rockchalk717 23:57, 20 November 2014 (UTC)

Mets Retired Numbers[edit]

I've gotten the current images, and have researched things. I can't for the life of me find a good closeup image of the retired numbers this year. Do you have access to one, or a video which shows them? I'm sure you're a fan so you watch the games and can catch a quick pick or something if they come up. I just want to make absolute sure that the shadows are gone. Not a matter of not trusting you, just being safe as I can be. I'm also going to work up a Kiner microphone to add to the section (similar things have been done for John Buck in St. Louis and Jerry Coleman in San Diego). --The Silent Wind of Doom (talk) 22:08, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

Sorry about that, dude. Yeah. Life kind of got me off on a whole 'nother track by the time I got your response. Thank you for reminding me. I've really got to get back on that. Sorry for kind of falling off the radar and everything. --The Silent Wind of Doom (talk) 18:46, 8 November 2015 (UTC)

License tagging for File:2016 Big East Tournament Logo.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:2016 Big East Tournament Logo.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Creighton colors[edit]

Hey, just a couple of things:

  • Sorry aboutt this edit. I hit the wrong button on my IPad.
  • We're now using the module for colors in infoboxes for athletics. Was there something wrong with the colors for Crighton? I looked at their website, and these are the colors I found. If the darker blue is the main color and not the lighter blue, let me know and I'll change it.

Thanks, ☔️ Corkythehornetfan 🌺 14:22, 12 April 2016 (UTC)

What's up! Don't worry about the edit, it happens to all of us! For Creighton's colors, I tried to make the changes neccessary to the module but believe I did not doing correctly. Forgive me for my mistake. That being said, the lighter blue is Creighton's primary color (it is known as CU Blue on the website you mentioned). Creighton's alternate colors are white and navy blue. If you could make these changes I would greatly appreciate it as a Creighton student. Thank you! --NJ Jurrjens (talk) 23:51, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
You changed it in the module's sandbox. CU Blue is what the university calls it for branding purposes, but their media guides (pg. 7) says "Blue". We are going off of the athletics website quick facts/media guides because this is the more accurate information. As for the navboxes, the Navy blue is the background for WP:CONTRAST reasons. The CU Blue is not AAA compliant with white font, but Navy blue is. This is why it displays like this in the navboxes, but shows the "CU Blue" in the Infoboxes. Hope this explains things, better. ☔️ Corkythehornetfan 🌺 00:16, 13 April 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of File:VCU Rams Old Wordmark.png[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The file File:VCU Rams Old Wordmark.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Superior image in .SVG format uploaded to Commons (File:VCU Varsity old logo.svg). All instances of this version have been replaced.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
