Hello Kathy,
I see that you used angle brackets to quote names of publications. This is very rare in English and instead double quotes or italics are used, so instead of <Shanghai Vernacular Newspaper> you could use "Shanghai Vernacular Newspaper" or on Wikipedia" Shanghai Vernacular Newspaper to get italics.
