User talk:Nicki Button
Hey Nicki! I really like your wiki topic, I found that the page flowed very well and the topic is really interesting. Here are a few suggests to help improve it: First off I can help with the pictures. Go to wiki commons, go to images, and follow the prompts to upload a picture. If it is from Nasa/ the government, or an image actually from wiki commons you can simply upload it from a saved file on your desktop, wiki will pop up a thumbnail link for you to copy and paste into your sandbox, and the image will magically appear :) Here is the link if you are having issues finding where to upload photos: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:UploadWizard The second thing I would add is citing and linking back to other wiki pages. There wasn't much that I missed as far as words that I didn't understand, but some words I guess aren't easy for others and I would just add a couple more links back to other wiki pages and if in doubt, put the citation link at the end of the sentence just in case. The next thing I noticed is the very first paragraph seems a little out of place, maybe make it an introduction with the same bold font as the other sections for the title "chloride deposits on Mars". I know we are supposed to only do three suggestions, but I had one more. The only thing I am wondering is if there is a section you might be able to add on any current missions to mars with the curiosity mission and if they have found any new research on water/chlorides--it is just a suggestion and I haven't done the research myself but I thought they were looking for that with curiosity and that could help you add a whole new section of information on the page beefing it up :) You have done a great job and I hope this helps! Online ambassador welcome
[edit]Hi Nicki
I am one of your online ambassadors. I am around to help you out with editing Wikipedia, You can contact me by email or on my talk page. Since I'm in Australia my timezone is quite different to yours. I have no tertiary qualification in astronomy or geology, but I like the topic, and I am hoping that you can write so that I can understand it! So far I can understand your writings, but I am looking forward to the pictures. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:44, 2 March 2014 (UTC)

[edit]On 21 April 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Chloride-bearing deposits on Mars, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that chloride-bearing deposits on Mars appear as irregularly shaped fractures on the surface? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Chloride-bearing deposits on Mars. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |
