A barnstar for you![edit]

The Original Barnstar
Thank you for making a typo correction on the page I created. If you found out anything else that you think it could be improved so it can be live sooner I would be so thankful in advance. Emiltak (talk) 21:50, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Pol orgs1[edit]

Is {{Pol orgs1}} used at all? I can't tell if it is a subst only template that is used but not documented or categorized, or if it is the beginning of a project that was abandoned. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonesey95 (talkcontribs) 17:12, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It was used (subst only) to create many categories, but has served its purpose. I will save a text copy just in case. Oculi (talk) 18:23, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

pmc changes[edit]

hello, i noticed you make several changes to the pmc in my citations in some of my edits. can i ask why and, if these changes are important, how to do them myself? currently, i use the automatic citation insert system of wikipedia to insert my refs. i just add in the doi and the ref is generated, including the pmc, automatically. Haddarr (talk) 00:42, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

oh i see the issue now, the wiki citation generator includes 'PMC' where only the number should appear Haddarr (talk) 05:10, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly so. There is a category Category:CS1 maint: PMC format which collects these so I empty it from time to time. Oculi (talk) 11:21, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Oculi: noticing your recent edit, I was wondering how to deal with deadurl=bot: unknown in the references section. Thank you for your time. Lotje (talk) 10:32, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I am pondering this exact issue. The link appears to be dead, so url-status=dead might be correct. Oculi (talk) 10:35, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Rename categories[edit]

Please see my proposal to speedily rename subcategories of Category:Enforced disappearances by country e.g. Category:Forced disappearances in Argentina to Category:Enforced disappearances in Argentina to align with the parent category per C2C. Hugo999 (talk) 04:27, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks - I will keep an eye on it. Oculi (talk) 13:20, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Oculi (seems like we kind a meet on a regular base . Wonder if you know what to do with Miss Universe Croatia. £Thank you for your time. Lotje (talk) 14:18, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Citation bot filled in 3 and the others seem to have the same title, so I have added this. The article is of dubious worth. Oculi (talk) 14:38, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you ever so much Oculi. As a matter of fact, there are heaps of articles with deprecated parameters and in all honesty, I do not know where to start (sigh) Lotje (talk) 15:24, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Commission[edit]

Hi there, in this edit, the Commission is a proper noun in the storyline, as it is short for the name of an organization ("Commission on Superhuman Activities") as noted in the previous sentence. Is there a way to set this so that it does not trigger AWB? 207.229.139.154 (talk) 04:05, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • {{ucfirst:commission}} might well work (which yields Commission). I'll try AWB on this talk page. I have noticed other examples where AWB will try to lowercase part of a title. Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/Typos is the page which details the various fixes, but it doesn't seem to mention the specific problem. Oculi (talk) 11:44, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cite errors[edit]

this doesn't fix the cite error. Doing this after your edit does. DuncanHill (talk) 22:33, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • The error I was fixing (successfully) was 'CS1 errors: redundant parameter'. I see that fixing one error introduced another error, which only shows up as a member of Category:Harv and Sfn no-target errors with 24.5K others. Oculi (talk) 22:59, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • How would I fix the same problem with Symphyotrichum depauperatum? I can see that sfn is neat, if mysterious (to me). Oculi (talk) 02:06, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • The CS1 errors where probably caused by this edit to the Cite Plants template: diff. I am fairly sure that 'CS1 errors: redundant parameter' was empty, and suddenly acquired a host of plants. Oculi (talk) 14:35, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
