June 2016[edit]

Still sadly missed....
Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Thank you. Hi I believe I started this account and included an email which goes to info@deep-purple.com That website is owned by Thames Talent Ltd in Connecticut. Thames Talent Ltd is the management of Deep Purple and I run the official deep purple website at the URL www.deep-purple.com

I would appreciate it if you unblock this account so that I can add the url www.deep-purple.com as on official site, as it is the band's official business site that is towards press, promoters and fans. If you also check the band's record company website http://www.deeppurple-nowwhat.com and click on "continue to site" you will see that you land on www.dee-purple.com. The site www.deeppurple.com is run by a company and is targeted towards fans.

I understand that it is confusing with so many official sites but do please check before you block. Please do a who-is search on www.deep-purple.com.

Thank you

I am the webmaster for www.deep-purple.com working for their management. OfficialDeepPurple (talk) 06:53, 20 June 2016 (UTC)

You need to choose a name that is easily identifiable for you specifically. If you are Bruce Payne (does he still formally manage Deep Purple? I can't remember), go with that. I already know deep-purple.com is the official band website; that's not under contention. The more serious problem is you probably have a conflict of interest in writing about Deep Purple. I'm a bit of a fan, as is Lewismaster, so hopefully between us we can sort things out. I personally would suggest anything written by Simon Robinson at the Deep Purple Appreciation Society is by far and away the most reliable source to use for the band (indeed, much of the citations in Made in Japan, which is a good article, use officially released liner notes and books he had a hand in), but that's my personal preference. If you know anything in any Purple article that you think is wrong or inaccurate, leave a note on the talk page here and we'll look into it. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:01, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
