The Wikipedia is not for "creating awareness that there are younger people in this world trying to put something back into our local and international community." It is a reference work and as such contains articles of likely value for that purpose. We have to have a standard for notability else we would be buried with articles on marginal entities. Rotary International rates an article, and Rotary of Australia might rate an article, but the Rotary Club of Adelaide probably does not, and its EDGE component probably even less so.

However, per WP:CORP, "A company, corporation, organization, group, product, or service is notable if it has been the subject of secondary sources." So if there are newspaper or magazine articles about Rotary Club of Adelaide EDGE, then it would probably be considered notable enough to have an article. Are there? I have restored the article for the time being and also did some cleanup on it. I will take it to WP:AFD shortly for the community as a whole to discuss it. The community will most likely vote to delete it. For it to have any chance to survive, it needs to be rewritten in a neutral tone. Do not sound like you are advocating for the club. For instance, "After preliminary work by some dedicated Rotarians" should be "After preliminary work by some Rotarians" etc.

The newspaper article - what newspaper is it from? It is illegible in its current state so will not carry a lot of weight. If you know when the article was published you might be able to go into the newspaper's archives and dig up a link to a legible text version of the article. Oh. It was a copyright violation, a straight copy of copyrighted text from the web, therefore it has been speedily re-deleted as explained at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rotary club of Adelaide EDGE. You can re-create the article provided you write it in your own words. However I doubt that a club with 35 members is going to rate an article. But you never know. I know this might sound odd or confusing, but it works like this: when you wrote the text for the web site and posted it on the web site, it automatically became copyrighted to you. But Wikipedia cannot use copyrighted text. Even though you, who wrote the original text on the web site, are just copying your own text to Wikipedia, it's still not allowed. We cannot treat you any differently than if it was another person who was stealing your words to put on Wikipedia. The best way around this is to just write the article in your own words. Besides, the article should have a much more neutral tone than the web site. Herostratus 08:36, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
