Welcome

[edit]

Hello, Pasboudin, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! I appreciate that you've chosen to create an account but please don't revert again too soon(WP:3RR) on the page again.NightBeAsT 15:46, 5 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits on the Mezmerize and Hypnotize article are all bogus. Please prepare to leave. I think you e-mail me now (at mike_garcia222003@yahoo.com) or visit my talk page and discuss/explain the meaning why you think the information on Hypnotize and Mezmerize is unsourced. -- Mike Garcia | talk 15:31, 5 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Mike, after serving your 24 hour block for this [1] please either cite a source or leave it as is. Also don't leave me threats like "prepare to leave" and vandalize my user page. Pasboudin 20:52, 5 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I'm glad you've registered. -- Norvy (talk) 17:22, 5 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Don't let the socks get you down. You may want to briefly review the information at User:Michael for some more background. Before commenting on anything you read there, you should also be aware of WP:NPA, not that I've seen that's been a problem with you before. -- Norvy (talk) 01:18, 6 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Even if there was definite proof that the anon IP address is indeed Mike Garcia, we can't really block AOL IP addresses for extended periods. However, I will leave a message with Mike Garcia about his above comments; I find them inappropriate. Thanks! Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk 23:29, 5 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

A quick talk with Mike Garcia (Michael)

[edit]

Hello, Pasboudin. I'm sorry/I apologize for being upset with you about the System of a Down related articles. Please don't remove the information you've been removing that you are fond of claiming that it is unsourced anymore. Hope we'll get a long better this time. But, for right now I think we should let the System of a Down related articles be in peace. But if you would like to know where the information (you kept removing) is from, here's the source: [2]. Please feel free to leave me a reply at Talk:System of a Down, Talk:Hypnotize and Talk:Hypnotize or my own talk page. Enjoy your stay here! -- Mike Garcia | talk 22:00, 7 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,. I think that Mike made a nice gesture here. Until you adequately justify removing the material, which was a compromise reached after considerable discussion, I will ask you to please leave it there. Thank you. Danny 00:59, 11 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, he seems to have started with the hostile words again for some reason on the talk page. Regardless, the previous material didn't seem to be a result of any compromise, but there is a compromise being proposed right now that has been accepted by at least 3 people including myself. Hopefully Mike will accept it and we will end this conflict. Pasboudin 01:51, 11 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
And what would you like for me to accept? -- Mike Garcia | talk 16:14, 11 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Pasboudin, please stop and just leave Hypnotize and the related-System of a Down-articles alone for now, please. Otherwise, do not ever edit here again. -- Mike Garcia | talk 01:52, 21 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Dear, Pasboudin

[edit]

I am sorry/I apologize for trying threatening you to die and leave the place. If you want to stay here for a while, please show me if you will do better than editing the related System of a Down-articles from getting me angry and upset, especially when we both violate the 3RR. But right now I am still upset with your attitude. -- Mike Garcia | talk 02:56, 21 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Ehm...

[edit]

You ended up behaving even worse than Mike Garcia. At least, he did not use unsummarised minor edits, which is considered "bad behaviour" by the policy. If you still thihk that paragraph shouldn't be there, try discussing it on Talk:Hypnotize. --Army1987 21:02, 22 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Army1987. I've discussed this issue at length as Pasboudin and also as 66.36.x.x back when I was unregistered. The same issue has been debated at Talk:System of a Down and Talk:Mezmerize, so you may wish to check the discussions on these pages for the full background. Talk:System_of_a_Down#Album_mixup_rumor is a particularly good discussion. Pasboudin 21:37, 22 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I don't dare to touch that paragraph anymore. Let's see the results of the votes. IMHO, we'd better keep the paragraph in its Rhobite version, or maybe even better in its Norvy version, until Hypnotize is released, then use the what-will-we-expect-to-read-in-year-2015 rule of thumb. --Army1987 12:31, 23 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Mike Garcia

[edit]

Thank you for lodging the arbitration request for this long overdue matter. As I have been involved in this particular dispute from the very beginning (back when I was unregistered and editing from 66.36.x.x), do you think I should make a statement? Or should I not get involved. Pasboudin 00:57, 24 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it would really add anything, the necessary points have been made I think and the less verbose we make the entire affair the less time is wasted on it. Thanks anyway though. --fvw* 01:02, 24 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Rachel Marsden

[edit]

Hi Pasboudin. I want to thank you for your efforts in protecting the Rachel Marsden page. Some of us really appreciate your valiant efforts reversing you-know-who's never ending vandalism.

There are two relevant links worth noting, but I'm not sure how to write them up or even whether to create a separate page. They are both about her father Claude Arthur Marsden, a former biology high school teacher. Link #1 Link #2

I leave this in your good hands. --Cyberboomer 00:23, 25 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Don't go soft on yourself. Many people appreciate your efforts. I have seen the page referenced on other message boards and blogs. Franksters, Doucheblog, Shamrocks, FreeRepublic, Stumbleupon, etc. Links It has become the standard Rachel Marsden reference.
As for her father, I have seen it mentioned as fact on other blogs/message boards. I suspect you want actual media verification. --Cyberboomer 21:26, 25 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Here is the proof that they are related and that he is her father. They share the same address.Link #1 Link #2
And remember... never underestimate yourself or your abilities. That's Mike Garcia's job. --Cyberboomer 20:48, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for re-inserting the prank data Pasboudin. You and Cyberboomer are both correct in this matter.

Hi Pasboudin. I know you've kept an eye on this page in the past. I notice that somebody is vandalizing the Rachel Marsden page again, removing much of the criminal/harassment material. Could you look in? Thanks! -20:06, 31 January 2006
Hi again Pasboudin. Thanks for your welcome note on my talk page. I was reading the Rachel Marsden page and it kept changing before my eyes, so I decided to register and jump into the fray. I hope to work other areas once this crazy revert war is over! Wiederaufbau 17:29, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vote for Deletion: Ian Blair (Toronto)

[edit]

I want to bring the Ian Blair (Toronto) page to your attention. Click on the user history of the person who created the page. You-know-who is responsible.

I don't think the page accomplishes anything. IB is hardly newsworthy. Apparently his alleged relationship with Rachel Marsden ended badly. I am concerned that this page has been created in bad faith.

I want to submit the page to the "Votes for Deletion" committee. I feel strongly about this but think I should get your input first. --Cyberboomer 19:55, 8 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your support. I have created an Articles for Deletion page and welcome your comments there. [Deletion Page Link] --Cyberboomer 00:12, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

More Marsden page commentary

[edit]

Hi pasboudin. It looks like we're both working on the Marsden page today. Let's be careful not to step on one another's toes. I also want to encourage you not to do things that restart the flame war. Throw the other side a bone by going out of your way to be fair. Bucketsofg 18:49, 25 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pasboudin always goes out of his way to be fair. Pasboudin eloquently wrote on February 12th, 2006: The subject of this article has involved herself in some controversial things whether her supporters like it or not, and I like to believe that care has been taken to make sure they've been presented without being unfair. If you disagree, feel free to point out specific parts of the article (indicate offending sentences) and suggest changes, counterpoints (needless to say, sourced) and we can work on them. If you'll notice, several issues presented by Bourrie were dealt with exactly as he wanted without a middle-ground compromise (removed ALL mention of Marsden's father, removed all mention of unmerited credits, etc.) --Cyberboomer 00:34, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging for Image:BSanders.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:BSanders.jpg. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to indicate why we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies under Wikipedia's fair use guidelines, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you want the image to be deleted, tag it as {{db-unksource}}.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
