Hallo, I saw this pop up in Category:Stubs and noticed it needed a little tidying up as well as stub-sorting, but then got into an edit conflict as you were still working on it. I'd done so many little changes that it seemed best to over-write your latest version, but I then compared and replaced the section on plants named for her, which I think was all that was lost.

A couple of little points: the opening sentence should be ... a sentence. Wikipedia ususally starts the article "'Xxx (born nnnn) is a yyyyy". Oh, and "born" rather than "b."

"Selected publications" is the usual heading to use, not just "Publications".

I thought the mention of her botanical abbreviation was probably better further down, I think that's where I've seen that template used for other botanists. I gave Gavin's dates (and added the pair of them to Bridson, the surname page). And gave her a couple of redirects from shorter names while I was at it.

Thanks for creating this article, and Happy Editing. Apologies if I missed anything in the edit conflict. PamD 16:32, 8 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Avoiding edit conflicts

[edit]

If you want to warn other editors to keep off for a while because you're still actively editing an article, you can add {{in use}}. Another useful template is {{under construction}} which I interpret as "Please think twice before proposing this for deletion, I'm still working on it though not this minute, other contributions welcome".
