Theobald Wolfe Tone Fitzgerald
[edit]Fitzgerald appears to be an interesting historical figure. There are a few issues with draft, primarily with the cited sources, apart from the military archives and Irish medals website, most don't actually mention Fitzgerald at all and the ones that do are really just mentions in passing. In saying that I can't access the HistoryIreland website (keeps timing out) and the publications aren't online.
The other issues related to the painting of the Irish flag - with one article from the Irish Times article stating "she and another guest, a man named Wolfe Tone Fitzgerald, painted the letters" whilst the other states "A man named Theobald Wolfe Tone Fitzgerald painted it in the home of Constance Markievicz in Rathmines."
The lede also states that he was a "friend of Countess Constance Markievicz", whilst he certainly knew her and sepnt time in her company there is no sources which confirm that they were 'friends'.
Lastly there are no cited sources provided for his personal life. 02:42, 1 June 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for the feedback, it is my first attempt at writing an article.
I have photos of his obituary that was in the Evening Herald in Ireland, would including them as images work as well as sources? I will remove ‘friend’. He is also referenced on the pages of the books I have listed as the painter of the flag which in Ireland is an important historical piece, hence me writing this article.
I have added another two sources mentioning Theo as the painter of the flag - sources 4 - https://irishhistory.bigcartel.com/product/the-flag-of-the-irish-republic and 5 - http://lissadellhouse.com/exhibitions/1916-exhibition/. and https://comeheretome.com/2019/07/14/surrey-house-rathmines/amp/?__twitter_impression=true
I have also added the citation for his brothers in law and personal life - http://www.rowppu.ie/The%20Revolutionary%20Years%202nd%20Ed.pdf
Below is the obituary from the Evening Herald, he is metioned a sa friend of the countess.
- For a first effort - you've done pretty well - my first article was fairly woeful in comparison. Just for future reference - citations go after punctuation marks (ie. full-stops and commas). You make want to check out Wikipedia's guide to referencing for beginners as it reads better if your sources are properly cited. The are two references that aren't acceptable or reliable - they are blog sites (https://comeheretome.com/2019/07/14/surrey-house-rathmines/amp/?__twitter_impression=true and http://www.paulobrienauthor.ie/1916-2/the-battle-of-mount-street-bridge-1916/), also avoid social media websites (ie. podcasts on iHeart radio etc). In respect to the obituary - all you need to do is cite the details you don't need to include the image (ie. "He painted the 1916 G. P.O. flag". Evening Herald. 27 March 1962.).Dan arndt (talk) 04:53, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for all your help and feed back. It was very encouraging and I look forward to you perhaps having a look at my future articles! Thanks again.
- Not a problem - glad to help out - all the best for your future editing. Dan arndt (talk) 05:44, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
- I'm hoping you can help me with this. Members of Theo's family have stated he always signed his name with a capital G in FitzGerald. Is it possible to rename the page via a page move?

Dan arndt (talk) 04:56, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Removal of personal information
[edit]Note that you removed your personal identitying information while defacing a political candidate's page with a smear campaign over a number of days.
There are strict Wikipedia rules about contributions to living persons - and particular protections in New Zealand for online harassment. Your account will be reported if this continues, and have flagged this page for monitoring. MrBrightside17 (talk) 10:36, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
- I would agree that Olivia Wensley's father-in-law is of questionable relevance to her, certainly WP:UNDUE if nothing else. I would also however like you to explain your assertion that what was written was incorrect and biased. Seems like quite charged language to use about generally reliable sources. And finally, I would warn you against using an editors anonymity to cast aspersions. We have complete right to privacy unless editing articles with conflicts of interest. --Pokelova (talk) 11:05, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
- Dear MrBrightside17
- I can hand on my heart say all the information in that edit was correct and sourced from the public media as per my sources. It was not meant to be harassment just laying out facts about the subject. I can only assume you are related to the subject so I will leave it there. But I ask that you retract your baseless accusations about concealing information and that the information being factually incorrect. This is Wikipedia I don't have and never have had any personal information on here. I believed the information was relevant at time of publishing and still do. Peerwikipeer (talk) 21:43, 7 August 2022 (UTC)
- You listed who the subject is married to - it doesn't say anywhere in the source article who she is married to? This points to you personally knowing the subject or knowing someone who does?
- I apologize if I'm wrong - but it seems suspicious that you've suddenly taken an interest in a single politician's page after inactivity for a year (prior only contributing to Irish topics) and posting a "Controversy" section (twice) using charged language like "controversial developer" which isn't used in the sources - which makes it look like an intentional hit job. It is important to remain neutral on articles about living persons, and keeping the information relevant to the individual. MrBrightside17 (talk) 05:27, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
- No, one does not have to know her personally to know who she is married to. It says it right here. Your continued allegations are inappropriate. --Pokelova (talk) 05:42, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
Agree it is WP:Undue. Noted that the author removed some identifying information (their interests) while spending days amending this article, and that is suspicious.
This page is for a political candidate - and these pages are subject to vandalisation by political opponents and their supporters.
Content is irrelevant to bio. MrBrightside17 (talk) 11:21, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
- There is absolutely nothing suspicious about it and I would barely consider that identifying information. Also you did not answer my question about what was factually incorrect. --Pokelova (talk) 11:32, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
Re:incorrect and biased - the peerwikipeer is asserting facts which are not in the sources contained.
The edits are contentious and discussing litigation which is currently ongoing (including whether parties are involved and the reason parties were sued) and speculating the result and settlement of previous litigation.
This edit may be for political reasons due to the upcoming election - and is attempting to cast aspersions on the subject through "association" with her father-in-law. MrBrightside17 (talk) 11:38, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
- I have read the sources and the information appears to be correct. I suggest you apologize and cease this. The information can stay gone as it is indeed irrelevant, so there is no need to continue these spurious accusations. --Pokelova (talk) 11:52, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
