Capricorn Coast
[edit]Hi, PetalsM! Sorry that I was a bit abrupt with my reaction to your edits. It is great to see you updating the status of the resorts etc. I am rather hampered by the fact I am travelling in Africa at the moment and I am trying to monitor changes to Qld articles via a mobile device (which is about 10 times harder than doing it from my laptop at home). Just to explain the situation with links in the body text of an article. We don’t put links to websites in the body of a Wikipedia article. It is ok to put links to Wikipedia articles using the double square bracket notation, however we only do that on first mention. So in the Capricorn Coast article, the first time we talk about Yeppoon, it’s a Wikipedia link but subsequently we just write the Yeppoon without the links. My comment about self-promotion related to the community website which was being described in a way that was verging towards advertising (which is very strongly prohibited in Wikipedia), so I pruned it a bit. I was tidying up your changes to keep them within our policies, my intention was to help you not discourage you, but I appreciate that my edit summary was abrupt (due to the mobile device problem). Please keep adding good content to Wikipedia and don’t hesitate to ask me for help if you need any. Kerry (talk) 10:09, 18 July 2018 (UTC) Hello Kerry, I understand that now but thanks for the clarification. So the links were verging towards advertising was what could have been written, however, shame it now reflects that I was trying to promote myself, which I was not. Only our beautiful coast. Live and learn. PetalsM (talk) 10:38, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
