License tagging for Image:Cole2006photo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Cole2006photo.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 16:06, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Bruce Cole, NEH Chairman

[edit]

Please do not remove {{wikify}} and {{cleanup}} tags unless the article in question has actually been wikified and cleaned up. This has not. It is still a copy-and-paste from an NEH press release, not remotely an encyclopedic article. Fan-1967 17:38, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry?

[edit]

Do you have difficulty understanding English? Do not remove the tags without cleaning up the article. Fan-1967 17:47, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What explanation do you need?

[edit]

Tags were placed on the article indicating that they do not fit Wikipedia standards. You removed them. I re-added them and asked you not to remove them until the article was cleaned up. You chose to ignore that, and repeatedly removed them.

I have come to the conclusion that there is, in fact, nothing salvageable here. It's just a copy of an NEH press release, and Wikipedia is not a free webhost. Both copies of the article have been nominated for deletion, and the editing community will decide what to do with them. Fan-1967 18:38, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

By the way

[edit]

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages. The notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of an article, and removing them is considered vandalism. If you oppose the deletion of an article, you may comment at the respective page instead. Thank you.

That trick has been tried thousands of times. It's never saved an article yet. Fan-1967 18:39, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop removing Articles for deletion notices or comments from articles and Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Bruce Cole — it is considered vandalism. You may comment at the respective page if you oppose an article's deletion. Thanks. Fan-1967 18:49, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do not vandalize the AFD tag

[edit]

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to Bruce Cole. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Fan-1967 19:03, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

... and again

[edit]

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, as you did to Bruce Cole, NEH Chairman, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Fan-1967 19:04, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What part of "Please do not remove or change this AfD message until the issue is settled" don't you understand?

[edit]

This is your last warning.
The next time you vandalize a page, as you did to Bruce Cole, NEH Chairman, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Fan-1967 19:07, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

If you continue in this manner you will be banned indefinitely. —Centrxtalk • 19:40, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
