Hello Peter9970. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Hello MrOllie, thanks for your comments and keeping Wikipedia useful for everyone. Just to answer your question, I do not receive any compensation for editing any Wikipedia page including this one. My employer is a customer of their product and I'm an user of it, so I update this page sometimes based on what I read about them in the news and research papers e.g. Gartner.

Thanks for pointing out that "Visionary" should be taken out. I took it from a news article, but I agree with you about removing it. What got me started this edit was that I found their Platform description not matching my experience, so I took the description from Gartner's point of view (and provided a reference to it) as I felt it was not promotional and it's a well read paper by many in our industry. However, I'm open to collaborating with you to draft and find a more suitable description either from the same Gartner paper or elsewhere. I suggest we should just take out the initial "visionary" statement and only keep the quote from Gartner. It's a bit odd for me as an user to read the Wikipedia page without a description of their offering. Appreciate your advice. Thanks -PeterPeter9970 (talk) 08:51, 10 April 2020 (UTC)

Since you created this account in 2017, and have only ever edited this one article, it's reasonable to discuss whether or not you have a conflict of interest.

Regardless, Wikipedia is not a platform for promotion or advocacy. It's a red flag that you are citing sources which use terms like "visionary" in the first place.

Do not edit war. Especially do not edit war to restore promotional content. Please review Wikipedia:Edit warring carefully, specifically WP:3RR. If necessary, discuss on the article's talk page, but avoid promotional language andbuzzwords. Stick to reliable, independent sources, and avoid churnalism or press releases. Thanks.
