If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Gun Club (secret society) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Information icon Hello, I'm Jooojay. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Ellwood P. Cubberley High School, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Jooojay (talk) 04:23, 8 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In response to your email asking why I redirected The Gun Club (secret society), I did not know anything about this topic nor do I care if the redirect remains; I was merely addressing your removal of the redirect that replaced the redirect with a sentence backed up by a dubious source, which did not demonstrate notability. If you think that the redirect should not remain or is confusing, then you should discuss it onTalk:The Gun Club (secret society) or nominate it at WP:RfD, where it may be deleted because it is not mentioned at the target, as you have pointed out and as I have tagged the page. If you think that a page should exist for this group (instead of just a redirect), then you need to include reliable sources that demonstrates that it is a notable group, as your example of Skull and Bones does. Before I turned it back into a redirect, I found and included two references that mention about the Gun Club as a UC Berkeley group, which I noted in my edit summary as a reasonably establishing that the group was related to the university, but not enough to demonstrate notability, which is generally done by with at least three good references discussing a topic in detail. ā€”Ost (talk) 16:39, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
