Request reason:
This has been my nym/nick for almost two decades and especially in the open source and information security communities it is the primary name people know me by as an individual. Pibara (talk) 06:53, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
Accept reason:
After discussing with the blocking admin, we have lifted your block. You are welcome to keep this username. You are reminded to check out WP:COI. Yamla (talk) 13:25, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
@Alexf:, I believe this account was blocked because they inserted a link to https://github.com/pibara/MattockFS. But note the 'pibara' there is a github username. There may certainly be other reasons why you believe the username is inappropriate, but they aren't immediately obvious to me. I believe this user should be unblocked and not required to change their username, but I am pinging you, Alexf, in case there's something I missed. Thanks for your time. And Pibara, this may take a little while but if you don't hear back soonish, please ping me. --Yamla (talk) 12:16, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Yamla: - Indeed, it was reported by a filter as matching the name on the URL. That is spamming your own stuff and not acceptable. Based on your explanation, go ahead and unblock. User should be careful about spamming and avoid conflicts of interest. -- Alexf(talk) 12:47, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
