Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Hook-Powell-Moorman Farm, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, and ideas—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Amortias (T)(C) 13:32, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

NPS site acreage updates

[edit]

Noticed you've been making updates to NPS acreage figures but without supplying a new reference, or even a comment. Recently undid your changes to Petrified Forest National Park but then re-did them after looking up the new NPS report page at - https://irma.nps.gov/Stats/Reports/National (the existing, prior ref was a dead link). Whenever someone leaves no refs or comments, they cause unnecessary extra work for other editors.

If you're going to continue with such changes, please use reference wikicode. For NPS acreage updates, the code should be like this - [1] (go into edit mode for this section to see the wikicode)

Update the 'page=' and 'accessdate=' parameters for each change, and please leave a brief edit comment like "updated acreage figure based on new ref." Thanks. Brian W. Schaller (talk) 12:00, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits a summary may be quite brief.

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Fettlemap (talk) 10:58, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
