Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Christine Kenney, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Adakiko (talk) 12:56, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not use "distinguished" nor "professor" per wp:honorific. "Dr." per wp:credential. Thank you Adakiko (talk) 12:59, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Adakiko and @Pikorua, my attention was drawn to the article by your changes. I have readded Distinguished Professor and a source showing that this is a position that Kenney has just been appointed to. Massey has 15 Distinguished Professors at any one time, and Kenney was just appointed as one. As such I believe it is appropriate to mention it in the lead and the body of the article. Help me!

[edit]

P Please help me with... this page about me set up by someone else, which I knew nothing about. I am very unhappy with it as it is a very inaccurate reflection of who I am and the work I do. Pikorua (talk) 13:06, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I assume you are saying that you are Christine Kenney. I've left you a conflict notice below. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you have trouble, you can ask further questions at the WP:Teahouse. Most important: do not edit the Kenney article directly. Instead, if you wish changes made to the article, you must use the article Talk page to do so.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:20, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry you're unhappy with the page @Pikorua, I created it as part of a project to cover all New Zealand women professors, as part of a larger project to address the gender gap on Wikipedia. If there are errors on the page you can post on the Talk page for the article and I or other editors will be happy to correct them - note that information for Wikipedia pages is taken from published sources, so please provide sources for correct information. DrThneed (talk) 20:49, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I truly appreciate how essential it is to showcase women in science in New Zealand. Locally and globally we are often marginalised. However, it was a shock to discover the page and see so much older information presented, and some significant information gaps, e.g. the co leadership of a $7.9 million MBIE Endeavour grant awarded in 2023. https://www.mbie.govt.nz/science-and-technology/science-and-innovation/funding-information-and-opportunities/investment-funds/endeavour-fund/success-stories/2023-research-programmes.
That said, it was really nice to see a photograph of me before my hair turned grey and I have a much better understanding of the Wiki process now, so will leave it to you and the other experts. Please continue with the important work you are doing to showcase the work of those, whose efforts are so often unseen. Pikorua (talk) 21:09, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
