AfD Nomination: Older than we are

[edit]

I've nominated the article Older than we are for deletion under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Older than we are satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. I have explained why in the nomination space (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Older than we are. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them. You are free to edit the content of Older than we are during the discussion, but please do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top). Doing so will not end the discussion.Philip Gronowski Contribs 20:56, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop removing Articles for deletion notices and comments from articles and Articles for deletion pages. If you continue to remove them, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Philip Gronowski Contribs 21:02, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

'Aliah' and 'Taya' articles

[edit]

The article Aliah was tagged for speedy deletion. The content has been merged into Older than we are and the title is now a redirect pointing at that article. Though Taya' had not been tagged for deletion, I conducted the same merge-and-redirect operation on that article as well. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 23:16, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia! We could really use your help to create new content, but your recent additions (such as "Taya.") are considered nonsense. Please refrain from creating nonsense articles. If you want to test things out, edit the sandbox instead. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Rotano

[edit]

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Rotano, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Rotano. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Creation of the nonsense article Taya.

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Taya., requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. - CobaltBlueTony 04:24, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent articles

[edit]

Please refrain from creating articles for stories you have written and the characters from these stories. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia; it is not a publisher of original thought. Nothing personal, but this is not the appropriate venue for such artistic expression. Thank you, and the community looks forward to positive contributions from you in the future. --Kinu t/c 07:06, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to use Wikipedia to advertise, as you did in Visoah, you will be blocked from editing. Sigma 7 20:03, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Captioning images

[edit]

I see that you may have had trouble formatting an image to have a caption. Please see Wikipedia:Picture tutorial for help with this. In particular, the "thumb" option is very helpful in this regard. --Metropolitan90 07:25, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Older Than We Are

[edit]

You have recently recreated or reposted material which previously was deleted in accordance with Wikipedia's deletion policies. Please do not recreate this article without prior approval from an administrator or you may be blocked from editing. We ask that you respect what Wikipedia is not. If you disagree with the article's deletion, you may seek an independent deletion review.

Please note that this is an official warning. You must stop recreating this article, otherwise steps may be taken to block you. Thank you for your cooperation. Tevildo 19:46, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted the article because it was (seemingly) about a book that does not exist. You have been warned about creating such articles in the past — please stop. Thank you.--SB | T 22:15, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism warning for Older Than We Are

[edit]

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

S h a r k f a c e 2 1 7 21:54, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked for attempting to recreate the article despite being warned not to. The next time you try to use Wikipedia for the purposes of marketing a book, you will be blocked again, perhaps indefinitely. --Deathphoenix ʕ 22:02, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image vandalism at stoat

[edit]

Overwriting an image with a non-existent file isn't really helpful. Please try to make Wikipedia better, not worse... --BozMo talk 16:08, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article Troblin has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Nonsense article; Wikipedia is not for things made up in school one day. Without the nonsense, this is basically a dictionary definition for a non-notable term.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Robofish (talk) 17:03, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
