I don't think you are stupid. Perhaps what you did was stupid, but that doesn't make you so. We are happy to rename you and remove the block once you convince us that you are prepared to take this seriously and tell us how you want to contribute to building this encyclopedia of human knowledge. There is no deadline for doing this, take all the time you need to decide, or to mature as a person. If you don't intend to edit, there is no need to remove the block. FWIW, I've been watching this unblock discussion because I happen to know a relative of this user. So speaking just from the peanut gallery, not in an admin capacity, I'm pretty surprised this was a 0-edit hardblock, and I'm not sure how the user could explain themself better than they have, when all they did was create a childish username. My recommendation would be to soften the block so the user can create a new account if they want—but with, shall we say, a strong recommendation that they hold off on creating a new account until they've had a few years to grow older and wiser. -- Tamzin^{[cetacean needed]} (she|they|xe) 06:49, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

We understand that you may not have meant to break the rules, but why did you think your current username was appropriate for a public forum? Would you enter a public establishment like a restaurant and announce your name as this? No- so why did you think it was okay here? I concur with what 331dot said. Under no circumstances anywhere would a person use such a name as what you chose in any serious project. Wikipedia isn't a joke. We're building an encyclopedia here. Such jokes as your originally chosen username might be appropriate for a school yard of adolescent children. But, to choose it for use here shows a distinct intent of not taking this project seriously nor intending on actually doing good work here. I'd like to know what it is you intend on doing here? You don't have to come up with an example right this minute, take all the time you need. But we need some evidence that you intend to take this project seriously. Once trust is destroyed, it is very hard to get back- you can start by telling one edit you wish to make. If you need time to do that(there is no deadline), I would suggest withdrawing your request.
