If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jean Goss requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. jsfouche ☽☾Talk 15:54, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Jean Goss, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion and appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. jsfouche ☽☾Talk 16:03, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Cecil John Cadoux, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Shipley (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Undiscussed move

[edit]

Per WP:COMMONNAME, there is no reason to move Stockton Rush to Richard Stockton Rush unless there is a consensus to do so. OhNoitsJamie Talk 20:00, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Stockton Rush is a family name. Richard Stockton Rush is a descendant of Richard Stockton (Founding Father) and of Benjamin Rush (Founding father) and his first name is Richard.
It seems normal to begin his presentation by his first name. Prof75 (talk) 20:52, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Again, please read WP:COMMONNAME, which explains why we use Bill Clinton as an article title and not William Jefferson Clinton. OhNoitsJamie Talk 00:21, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
WP:COMMONNAME does not impose to withdraw the first name. Of course, Bill Clinton is "Bill Clinton" in Wikipedia but not "Clinton".
For Richard Stockton Rush, see New York Times July 1986 :
"Wendy Hollings Weil, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Richard Weil 3d of Denver, was married yesterday to Richard Stockton Rush 3d, a son of Ellen Davies Rush of San Francisco and Mr. Rush Jr. of Westminster, Vt."

That's great. I can play too: [1]. You clearly haven't read WP:COMMONNAME. Do not move articles again until you are willing to read that policy. I'm not discussing this further with you per WP:IDIDNTHEARTHAT. OhNoitsJamie Talk 14:59, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I read the WP:COMMONNAME but I don't catch your point. Sorry for disturbing. 2A01:CB00:3F5:1D00:BDE0:E3BD:7684:D303 (talk) 16:18, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
