Welcome![edit]

Hello, Pskis, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Brion James, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! —C.Fred (talk) 19:37, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have no conflict of interest I was his wife for 26 years. Maxine was not certainly not from 1965. I was trying to clear that up as well he had three brothers one being Brent who’s not mentioned. Brian as well never served in the National Guard so I’m not sure where you got all this information but I’m trying to correct it can you tell me how I do that? Pskis (talk) 19:48, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If you were his wife, then you absolutely have a conflict of interest.
For any of the corrections, you'll need to cite published reliable sources to support the change. I'll take a look at the NG claim in a second and see what source is cited for that.
To make corrections, put a message on Talk:Brion James and add the {{request edit}} template at the top of the message. —C.Fred (talk) 19:51, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
There is no source cited for his alleged National Guard service, so I have removed that from the article. —C.Fred (talk) 19:53, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
One other observation: it's curious that, if you were his wife, you have misspelled his name in your message.C.Fred (talk) 19:55, 16 December 2020 (UTC) See below for reason for striking. —C.Fred (talk) 20:09, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure where you think I missed spelled the man’s name that I have been with for 26 years maybe my voice texting didn’t spell it right. And I noticed you didn’t mention anything about adding his brother Brent James to the list of spouses. Why would you argue with me about this when I can prove it? Pskis (talk) 19:58, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Most people aren't married to their brothers; I assume that's the case with Brion as well.
If you can prove it, provide independent, published, reliable sources. We cannot (and, frankly, will not) just take your word for it. —C.Fred (talk) 19:59, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I’m not sure what country you’re from but I never said that I was married to my brother or that Brion was. And you calling me a liar is quite rude. My family was very concerned when they saw that Wikipedia had somebody named Maxine as his wife. And I’m going to say this one more time Brion HAS 3 Brothers - Craig who is the oldest Chester who is the middle And Brent who was the youngest and actually died when he broke his leg and the doctor allowed an infection to get into it. Please do not insult me anymore. And I voice text misspelled something it is my fault for not editing it. Pskis (talk) 20:02, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am referring to this comment by you: "And I noticed you didn’t mention anything about adding his brother Brent James to the list of spouses." —C.Fred (talk) 20:03, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
And what source says he has three brothers? The Washington Post obituary says he's survived by two, which is consistent with what you say, but doesn't support the existence of a third. —C.Fred (talk) 20:04, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Several things that I said were taken and put somewhere else in the sentence. I voice text because typing isn’t an option. Broken hand 🤚 Pskis (talk) 20:05, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I hope your hand recovers soon. Please remember that in a text environment, we go by what is typed on the screen and tend to assume that people proofread their comments. However, we've all committed typos at some point. My apologies for bringing the typo up. —C.Fred (talk) 20:09, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I don’t know what the Washington compost says about my family. Nor do I care I’m giving you first-hand information from my family do you need to see a family photo of all of us and I can point to each individual person and tell you who they are? I’m not sure what any publication has said about my husband I am trying to make his Wikipedia page correct. Thank you I didn’t know I would be getting into an argument with somebody about my own personal family. Pskis (talk) 20:06, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is twofold. First, we have no way to verify that you are who you say you are. You could contact the Volunteer Response Team via email if you really thought that would help, but that will not give you carte blanche to change the article. The second point is that we do not use first-hand information from family members. Wikipedia uses reliable secondary sources to support articles. That's why you need to provide a published source and cannot just use first-hand accounts. —C.Fred (talk) 20:11, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely I apologize, first time trying to do this I’ve noticed it before and never did anything about it didn’t know that I could. Thank you for taking off that he was in the army or the National Guard because he was not. And even though Brent is gone he was one of Brian‘s brothers and his best friend. He broke his leg and one of the doctors accidentally killed him. He was only 26. Pskis (talk) 20:13, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

So I have a question, where do you have published verification that Brian married somebody named Maxine in 1965 and was married to her until 1999 when he died? Pskis (talk) 20:22, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The article had previously stated that there was an alleged spouse named Maxine, whom he married in 1965 and divorced in 1966. That has been removed from the article. —C.Fred (talk) 20:31, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

So let me get this right in article it says allegedly he married somebody named Maxine in 1965? But you can publish that? That’s kind of weird don’t you think. And I’m more concerned about you adding his brother that is easy enough to look up. Beaumont high school they all went there. And that’s documentation not an alleged article. So would you for us remove the spouse And let us do whatever we need to do to get his brother put on there? Pskis (talk) 20:35, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
