No problem. Spend a few minutes going through Special:UncategorizedFiles and you'll see you aren't alone. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 04:12, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Duplicate of commons

Hi
A number of images you are tagging as being a duplicate of a commons image don't exist here at all, e.g. File:Komodo dragons video.wmv.OGG and File:Dynamite-3.svg.
Those are the only two I checked, and I blanked them (since there is some history that might be preserve-worthy). Can you please double-check the other images you tagged?
Thank you, Amalthea 09:29, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

I was going through and marking blank image pages that were re-created after the files were moved to Commons. Most of them were created as vandalism, with the page later blanked to remove the vandalism. Per the guidelines for local pages of Commons images, I've been leaving any that have relevant information in relation to Wikipedia, such as added Featured Picture Candidates. A couple of them had since had the FPC templates removed—I'll go back and remove the deletion tag from those. You're right—even if the page is now blank, the history of things like FPC nominatoins is worth saving. Radiant chains (talk) 09:39, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
I just had a look, and we have a {{FPCold}} template that I'd actually prefer being used on those images. I've added it to the two I mentioned above, maybe you want to use that one, too.
Cheers, Amalthea 10:29, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
Thank you! I wasn't aware of that template. I'll add it to any more former FPC images I come across. Radiant chains (talk) 10:34, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
FWIW, if you're also tagging such pages for deletion, and you have a lot of them, then it might be easier for all if you collect all those pages somewhere in your userspace, so that they can be batch deleted by someone. Tagging them individually often means that they will be reviewed individually, by several admins, which will take more time, and I'm sure some will be rejected as I8s.
Feel free to poke me if you have such a list of useless pages, and I'll delete them for you.
Cheers, Amalthea 11:37, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
Wow, that would probably be a huge time-saver for all of us. I'll start assembling a list instead of tagging the individual images. Thank you. Radiant chains (talk) 11:39, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
May I suggest also review Special:UncategorizedFiles? A lot of those images are at Commons too. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 03:20, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
That's my primary list for this endeavor. I've reviewed up to files beginning with "G". (User:Radiant chains/Commons files with blank Wikipedia file pages). Radiant chains (talk) 06:03, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
I've finally finished going through the pages and manually creating a list. I went as far through the alphabet as I could, but Special:UncategorizedFiles won't display more than 1000 entries. The list is located at User:Radiant chains/Commons files with blank Wikipedia file pages. Of course, any pages that had meaningful history were excluded from the list. Obviously, I've had way too much time on my hands this week :) Radiant chains (talk) 07:34, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
Jeez, that's quite some. That's going to take me a bit since I'll have to review them again, I'm afraid; I notice you blanked some old, misplaced comments from the pages. That may seem uncontroversial, but only a week ago or so MBisanz deleted a whole lot of image talk pages with none or no relevant comments, and got quite a lot of heat for it until he restored them all. Since from a glance some of the stuff you blanked were misplaced comments (like on File:Rakevet kala.jpg), information about other versions (File:Rhombicosidodecahedron.jpg, File:Rhombicdodecahedron.jpg), requests to convert to SVG (File:Amtrak acela.png), or even almost trivial information like on :File:Qianmen Gate.jpg, they will need to be double-checked and the information moved as appropriate, either to commons, to the talk page, or to the user talk page. :\ Amalthea 12:16, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
I understand. It's not something we can just rush through blindly. At least it's a start, though. Radiant chains (talk) 12:48, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

Notability

Regarding this edit you made and your edit summary, could you explain to me why you think the concept notability differs from that used within Wikipedia? Also, do you know the editor Radiant!? --Pixelface (talk) 06:44, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

That was poor wording. The concept of notability isn't different. I should have said that the article discusses the concept of notability solely as it's applied within Wikipedia. Radiant chains (talk) 00:02, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
For example, Wiktionary defines notability as "The quality or state of being notable or eminent" or "A notable or eminent person". Notability in Wikipedia describes these concepts as they apply to a subject's inclusion in Wikipedia. Radiant chains (talk) 00:07, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

Naela Chohan

Yes, I'm sorry I hadn't put the licensing tags on them. I am the proprietor for all the pictures and they are released to the public domain. They shouldn't be deleted now. Thank you, --عثمان وقاص چوہان 04:59, 3 May 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Uchohan (talkcontribs)

unexplained revert

Care to explain this edit? You gave no edit comment, you just undid a change from January to put a false licensing tag from someone claiming to own copyright on a metal figure he bought from some company. Did you just not pay attention to what you were doing, or do you not understand basic copyright law? DreamGuy (talk) 18:06, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

I do understand copyright law. However, if it is a copyright violation, simply removing the license tag doesn't solve anything. I've taken the correct step and listed the file here: Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files/2009 May 4#File:Ral Partha miniature.jpg. Radiant chains (talk) 12:15, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

You removed the {{notability}} template, but it has been added back. The editor then commented on the AfD. Just letting you know. (I should collate the references and add the notable facts, but I can't right now.) Mark Hurd (talk) 15:00, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads-up. I found a few more sources from a Google Scholar search, so I'll try to add more to the article, as well.Radiant chains (talk) 15:14, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Hello, Radiant chains! How are you? I think you don't remember me. I had discussed about webnode and history of webnode on 27th April, 2009. Leave it, it is an old story!

Now, see, we have talk pages of articles so that we discuss about improving the articles, but here, in the talk page of The Deccan Chronicle, two sections: Content and Nostalgia, are about the discussion of the newspaper but not about the article. What do you think I should do.

P.S. Don't do anything there all by yourself, tell me, let me also learn. Tell me and I will do it. Please Please follow this very very important instructions.

Hope I wasn't rude or disturbing. --Srinivas G Phani 13:20, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
