Welcome

Hello, RayanAbdallah123 and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Go through our online training for students

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! SPF121188 (talk this way) (contribs) 12:35, 8 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, RayanAbdallah123, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. In the past, the mobile-obsessed adolescent and young adult demographic used Snapchat as a fun app because they liked the idea of disappearing messages and the openness of communication. Brands avoided it because they were unsure of how to connect on the social media platform and why they should spend money on producing content that would soon become obsolete. But that's not the case now. Since its 2012 introduction, Snapchat has developed, adding new media types, filters, and ad forms. Not to add, it now boasts an astonishing 186 million daily active users. Snapchat is a multimedia messaging app developed by Snap Inc., originally Snapchat Inc. One of the principal features of Snapchat is that pictures and messages are usually only available for a short time before they become inaccessible to their recipients. Facebook is the most popular social advertising platform by far, but an increasing number of young people use Snapchat. Pew Research Center data show that 78% percent of young Americans (18–24 years old) use Snapchat (the number goes down to 54% in the 25 to 29 years old group). Snapchat engages in targeting ads by Snap Audience mix, pixel custom audience, ad engagement audience, and third party custom audience. RayanAbdallah123 (talk) 02:08, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Ganesha811. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Social network advertising seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Hi! Please take a look at the messages I am leaving at the page history (link [1]). Wikipedia must not use advertising-like words such as "astonishing". —Ganesha811 (talk) 22:23, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please read and respond to my messages regarding social network advertising! If you just keep adding unencyclopedic material, it will get removed. —Ganesha811 (talk) 22:16, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! As a student editor, you may not know many of Wikipedia's policies. Please don't add your name to articles, even when you wrote part of them - there's no need to sign your name, every edit is recorded and anyone can see that you wrote something by looking in the article history. 22:49, 13 December 2022 (UTC) —Ganesha811 (talk) 22:49, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. —Ganesha811 (talk) 22:23, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I am new to Wikipedia, is there an issue? RayanAbdallah123 (talk) 22:28, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! Yes, there is. I appreciate your contributions to social network advertising, but unfortunately I had to remove a lot of them. Your edits were not in the right encyclopedic tone. Wikipedia is neutrally and formally written, not written like a persuasive essay or a press release. Please take a look over WP:NEWSSTYLE and WP:FORMAL, as well as WP:NPOV for a more general take. When adding content, make sure it sounds like an encyclopedia. You can look at some featured articles for examples of a proper tone, such as Digital media use and mental health. —Ganesha811 (talk) 22:45, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I am very sorry about that, I did not mean for that to occur. This is new to me and it is my first time. Sorry again! RayanAbdallah123 (talk) 22:53, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No problem! If you need help drafting future contributions, you could ask your course instructor, or someone like Ian (Wiki Ed) on their talk page, who is a Wiki Education employee. —Ganesha811 (talk) 22:56, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ganesha811: Note that the course in question appears to have finished - Although I'm sure most Wikipedians will be willing to help, the Wiki Education people are likely to be dealing with other courses. casualdejekyll 23:48, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
