A tag has been placed on Draft:Anthony Ortiz, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.

Hi Cullen328,
Thanks for originally reviewing my draft. I was originally testing out how to create a Wikipedia Page for an artist I represent and must have done it incorrectly to be flagged. I learned after-the-fact about adding in citations, references, etc., as well as the general format for creating a Wikipedia page.
I now understand that my original draft for "Anthony Ortiz" under the Red Slushy Records can be seen as self-advertising/promotional, but please know that this is not the case. Anthony Ortiz is a burgeoning music artist and I'm trying to get a factual Wikipedia page up about him, his early life and his music.
I'm also able to create his page under a personal Wiki account if that works better? I'm very new and naive still to the whole process. I did just try to create a personal account with user name "Alex.Lendrum" but was also blocked due to the same internet address/proxy server (I'm using the same laptop as when I was using the "Red Slushy Records" account.
Please let me know if I can be unblocked so that I can appropriately draft and submit for review a Wikipedia Page for Anthony Ortiz. Also here's a link to his Spotify Artist's page for some quick validity on who he is: https://open.spotify.com/artist/7kiCkMJHLchcrQByu2yHDk?si=YU9CuGnGQfKzt2EtCoEqNA
Thanks!
Lastly, below is the "Unblock Request" that Wiki has instructed me to send:

You will not be permitted to promote Anthony Ortiz with any account. You have a conflict of interest. Cullen328 (talk) 23:42, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Cullen328,
Apologies for any further miscommunication on my end. I am not trying to promote Anthony Ortiz. I am simply trying to create a factual page about him under the Wikipedia guidelines, and since I know most about his early career/current music career, I was tasked with creating the page.
Once again, this is not intended to be promotion. I have enough citation and reference links to backup all facts I intend on including in his encyclopedia write-up.
Thanks. Red Slushy Records (talk) 00:20, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Two different versions of the article were deleted by two other administrators as Unambiguous advertising or promotion and I agree with their assessments. Zero evidence has been provided that Ortiz is a notable performer, as defined by Wikipedia. Again, you have a conflict of interest and should not be trying to write a Wikipedia article about this person. Cullen328 (talk) 20:49, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Cullen328,
Thanks for your response. Yes, those were alternate drafts—I was essentially using the Wikipedia board as a place to draft and edit the copy with the intent of keeping it as a draft until I was able to finalize it—which I would then submit for review. I wasn't aware that they were being reviewed as a draft version.
There is another draft version that includes all linked citations and references from multiple credible sources within the Red Slushy Records' Sandbox, which I think you can access here (again, not the final, it's just a draft as I test out how to appropriately submit a Wikipedia page): https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Red_Slushy_Records/sandbox&action=edit&redlink=1&preload=Template%3AUser+sandbox%2Fpreload
All that said, If I am still gong against Wiki rules, I apologies. If you don't mind, is the main reason behind the drafts being flagged as "Unambiguous advertising/promotion" because of the account being the same music label that the artist is under? I don't mean to waste your time any further—I'm just trying to learn from this.
Many thanks again! Red Slushy Records (talk) 21:12, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
