A barnstar for you!
[edit]The Original Barnstar | |
Greetings! I love your picture of Portland Head Light. My family comes from Maine, but I was raised in the middle west. Back in 1952-3 our family went to Maine on vacation. The day we were at Portland Head Light there was a visiting Lighthouse keeper there who was going to take a tour of the Light. My dad asked if we - all 6 of us could tag along. So we got to climb up the stairs to the top of light. It was amazing to see the giant Fresnel like lenses and the highly polished surfaces. When it was time to leave, my sister jumped up on the railing and slid all the way to the bottom! The lighthouse keeper almost had a coronary! I doubt that he ever let civilians tag along after that!!! BookyRay (talk) 20:48, 5 June 2014 (UTC) |
