Speedy deletion of Gamers-Source

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Gamers-Source requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. - Icewedge (talk) 07:56, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Gaming-point, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Vianello (talk) 17:39, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your hold on rational

[edit]

"This is a community, just like Facebook and such and deserves a place on Wikipedia, thanks."

This does not satisfy the notability for inclusion on Wikipedia set out at WP:WEB. You state that your site is similar to Facebook and thus deserves a place on wikipedia, this is not the case. If every forum created on the internet had it's own Wikipedia page the site would be flooded. Facebook currently has over 150 million members whereas your site has just 200.

Facebook has also been the subject of many non trivial articles by major publishers thus making it notable.

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Technical support. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Old Moonraker (talk) 15:48, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
