Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Qwyrxian (talk) 10:34, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've rolledback all of your additions of that link. As a general rule, if you ever think some link needs to be on a whole lot of pages, it almost certainly doesn't. WP:EL is very strict, and we want only a very small number of highly select links in our articles. Qwyrxian (talk) 11:19, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I had started addressing this issue, then came back and finished my post without realising that you had already dealt with it. Edwardx (talk) 12:22, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Possible conflcit of interest

[edit]

Hello. It appears that all of your editing activity is adding links for the corresponding mediadb.eu page to the External Links section of media company articles. Whilst this seems to be a relatively benign activity, have you though about contributing actual content instead, rather than just trying to increase traffic to mediadb.eu?

Also, as this is your only area of activity on Wikipedia, it is reasonable to infer that you work for or have some connection to mediadb.eu. You should declare this, as there may well be a conflict of interest.

Please read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest: "This page in a nutshell: Do not edit Wikipedia to promote your own interests, or those of other individuals or of organizations, including employers. "

You should also read WP:LINKSTOAVOID: "1. Any site that does not provide a unique resource beyond what the article would contain if it became a featured article." Links to mediadb.eu might meet that criterion. Edwardx (talk) 12:19, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
